TIMM BUECHLER: Small town boy on playing bass for respected power pop names on big stages

INTO THE MUSIC

Text us about this show.

Timm Buechler is one talented guy. He primarily plays bass, something he taught himself out of necessity. However, he also writes, sings, is a graphic artist, and he has a thing for 8-track tapes. He has toured with the likes of Paul Collins and Peter Case, played on sessions for Dwight Twilley, and even met Susanna Hoffs (The Bangles) once. After playing bass in different parts of the world, on national tours, and with several local bands, the cool thing you find about Timm is he's still very much in touch with his roots. Today he shares with us his stories. And his 8-tracks.

AMELIA FORD: Her new single, "Hate Her," drops today plus winning Album Of The Year

Text us about this show.

Amelia Ford returns to Into The Music, this time with husband and teammate Shawn Maass to talk about the huge year 2023 has been for them. Amelia's album, Wide Wide Open, won the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Award for Album of the Year and she was nominated in seven other categories to boot. We discuss why northeast Wisconsin is becoming a hot spot for singer-songwriters of which she is emerging as one to pay attention to. Along with a busier gigging schedule, she went to Nashville to record three singles at The Record Shop with producer Sean Giovanni. "Hate Her," the first of the three, drops today and we have it here!

THE GENTLEMEN GRIFTERS: Americana and bluegrass duo with musical character portraits

Text us about this show.

The Gentlemen Grifters are Shaun Swanson and Mike Goodwin, two guys that like to share a good story through a song. As their bio for the Mile Of Music festival says, their “songs are often tongue-in-cheek portraits of criminals, gamblers, addicts, and drifters.” Think of their songs as short stories and folk tales set to some of the sweetest acoustic music you'll hear. Call it Americana or call it bluegrass, it's beautiful in its simplicity. Music that's genuine, honest, and has nothing to hide behind created by Shaun and Mike (and sometimes their friend, Brent), a couple guys with the heart and chops to do it right.
