I’m Lawrence Francis, Host of Interpreting Wine the place to learn from thought leaders in the world of wine and marketing, welcoming you to the MW Student Series series.
Across these 4 episodes exploring the personal and professional experiences of four current MW students, with the aim to shine a light on the varied roles each has within the wine industry. In each episode we’ll also be tasting a selection of wines that have a special significance to each of them.
We kick the series off in the company of Melissa Worrall. A native of Australia’s Barossa, Melissa has over 15 years’ experience in the industry, from cellar to sales, customer service to buying.
Having taken part in the Australian Wine Research Institute’s Advanced Wine Assessment Course where, rated for accuracy and consistency she achieved one of the highest scores. Melissa’s been a judge at the Barossa Wine Show.
Melissa holds a WSET Diploma in Wine and Spirits and is undertaking Stage1 of the Institute of Masters of Wine Program.
We taste three wines together, a kerner and a grenache, both from South Australian producers Chaffey Bros. And finish with a carmenere from Chilean producer De Martino. All three wines are available in the UK from Enotria and Coe or direct purchase from The Great Wine Co, links included below. Enjoy!
