Can blockchain help us reinvent the way we build communities? Today, we welcome Adi Sideman, co-founder and CEO of Props Project, and he’s determined to prove that it can.
For over 20 years, Adi has successfully built communities and large consumer products at scale. He’s co-founded several companies, including TargetSpot, Ksolo Karaoke, and Oddcast, and he’s well known for his work at YouNow, the live streaming service he helped grow to over 120 million user sessions per month.
Bringing people together has proven to be a deeply gratifying experience. Still, Adi was inspired to look beyond that and search for new ways in which communities could provide value to their members. These intentions inspired Props, a loyalty token that allows people all over the world to earn benefits, money, and a stake in the network they help grow.
Four years ago, Props Project ran a funding campaign on Republic, reaching their maximum goal of $1,070,000 in just several hours. Since then, they’ve raised an additional $21 million in funding, expanded their brand globally, and became a valued blockchain community member.
In this episode, Adi joins us to talk about his experiences with Props and share some of the most important lessons he’s learned along the way. We’ll also discuss various topics surrounding blockchain technology innovations and their implications for the future of community building.

Investing in Emerging Markets with Jim Chu, Founder and CEO of Untapped
Our guest for this episode is a long-time investor in emerging and frontier markets. He has identified some exciting, “untapped” opportunities for investment, and today, he’s going to share his insights with us.
Jim Chu is the founder and CEO of Untapped, a global tech-for-good company that aims to bridge the investment gap in frontier markets and enable entrepreneurs to scale to their full potential.
Jim has recognized a $5.2 trillion investment gap in SMEs in developing countries, as well as a $3.9 trillion chasm in the Global South. It’s something he likes to call a “VC blindspot,” because it cannot be accessed by traditional models of investing.
Untapped’s most recent efforts are focused on Africa, a booming market with a very high population growth rate, and amazing FinTech opportunities. By creating better, more suitable financing instruments, they wish to provide alternative funding opportunities for emerging market entrepreneurs.

Investing in Buckwheat with Emily Griffith, Founder & CEO of Lil Bucks
For Emily Griffith, this has been a journey of triumphs and challenges. Like many entrepreneurs, she started without startup experience or capital and had to figure out how to survive along the way.
The idea behind Lil Bucks was born in Australia a few years ago. Emily was working at an advertising agency in Sydney when she got introduced to buckwheat as a healthy alternative to sweet snacks like granola. She fell in love with it immediately.
When Emily came back to the United States, she noticed that there weren’t any brands selling buckwheat as a snack in the Midwest.
Upon further research, she discovered that the country was missing food that could meet consumers’ functional needs while tasting better than existing alternatives. On top of that, she learned that while 75% of Americans were eating healthy snacks, they didn’t want to sacrifice taste or texture over nutrition.
She felt there was a gap in the market and that her idea was the best option to fill it.
In 2018, Lil Bucks was officially born as a breath of fresh air in a world where many people forget that they’re creating solutions for people and not just more products to make a profit.
Join us in this episode to learn how Lil Bucks has managed to quadruple their revenue from 2019 to 2020 while providing healthier grain options in the US and supporting sustainable farming.
