In this episode, I had the opportunity to talk with mental health therapist Alejandro Sandoval. In our conversation, Alejandro shared about men's unique healing journey in mental health therapy. We discussed the generational patterns transferred to men, such as machismo, disconnection from emotions, and lack of vulnerability. Alejandro is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing privately in Pasadena, California. Alejandro works with men struggling with relationships, emotional intimacy, and connection. Alejandro uses a cultural trauma lens, and treatment modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, TRM (Trauma Resiliency Module), and parts work to help individuals heal and connect better with those they love.
