Get ready for a walk down memory lane as we journey back to my childhood holidays in Menorca! Remember the thrill and anticipation of experiencing a new destination - sans my older brother - with my parents? That innocent period of self-catering accommodations and the subsequent realisation of the allure of all-inclusive holidays - those were the days! But don’t worry, we won’t get stuck in the past. We’ll also navigate through the year it all transpired, adding a touch of nostalgia to this reminiscing session.
Fast forward to my teenage years, caught in the paradox of wanting to taste the nightlife yet not quite old enough, and wanting to escape the younger kids. The only sanctuary? A pub in the midst of the World Cup. And just when you think it's all fun and games, the holiday takes a disastrous turn. But life is all about expecting the unexpected, right? Imagine being holed up with a group of "gangsters" during the 1998 World Cup, amidst the notorious David Beckham red card incident. Sounds like quite the adventure, doesn't it?
