Minnow is a reflection of the life and style of its founder, Morgan Smith, a mother and entrepreneur with a background in premium product marketing. After working in New York and Los Angeles, she returned to her hometown of Laguna Beach, California where Minnow was born. She now lives on the other coast in Charleston, SC with her husband and three children.

With the beach inspiring her daily life, Morgan envisioned a children’s swimwear collection with an elevated approach—sun-kissed color palettes, purposeful details, custom prints, and high-quality, hand-finished production—and minnow was born.

Founded in April of 2020, after running out of canvases to stitch, Krista decided to try her hand at painting a needlepoint canvas and fell in love with the process. Penny Linn Designs is constantly evolving and expanding from bringing on new designers under The Collective to fresh new canvases and fun accessories.

Upon graduating from The University of Kentucky in 2013 with a degree in Business Communications, Krista moved to New York City for her job at Major League Baseball. She was with MLB for five years before leaving to work for herself full-time.

Penny Linn Designs was created from a love of needlepoint, founded on the memory of a grandmother, and thoughtfully crafted in a one-bedroom apartment in New York City. It's the new-age needlepoint store offering hand-painted canvases, accessories, ideas, tips, and insider information to help anyone fall in love with needlepoint.
