EP034: The Purpose Of Dressage
03/26/21 • 34 min
Today’s episode explores the purpose of doing dressage. I’ll look at it separate from our own human goals, and instead talk about the purpose with respect to how it can (and should) benefit the horse.
About the Host:
Karen Rohlf, author and creator of Dressage Naturally, is an internationally recognized clinician who is changing the equestrian educational paradigm. She teaches students of all disciplines and levels from around the world in her clinics and the Dressage Naturally virtual programs.
Karen is well known for training horses with a priority on partnership, a student-empowering approach to teaching, and a positive and balanced point of view. She believes in getting to the heart of our mental, emotional, and physical partnership with our horses by bringing together the best of the worlds of dressage and partnership-based training.
Karen’s passion for teaching extends beyond horse training. Her For The Love Of The Horse: Transform Your Business Seminar and Mastermind/Mentorship programs are a result of her commitment to helping heart-centered equine professionals thrive so that horses may have a happier life in this industry.

EP033: How To Ask Questions
I love answering student questions. I get a lot of information not only from the question but from HOW the question is asked. In this episode, I will share what I have learned from decades of answering student questions about how to ask questions in a way that not only yields the best answers... But in a way where it helps you find the answers yourself.

EP035: Get Un-Stuck!
In this episode, I will take a look at the common ways horses and students get stuck and more importantly how to get unstuck! It’s normal that our progress sometimes comes rapidly and sometimes is slower. It’s even normal for it to plateau every now and then... but those plateaus can start to feel like ruts. That’s when it’s important to step back and re-evaluate how we can freshen things up and spark new progress. At the end of this episode, I will lead you through a process of picking a goal and getting motivated to do it.
