Hellbound with Halos - "Rianna Conner, 'The Combat Barbie'"

"Rianna Conner, 'The Combat Barbie'"

12/18/18 • 55 min

Hellbound with Halos
Rianna Carpenter also known as "The Combat Barbie", joins Kevin & Sully for this episode. Rianna has never done a Podcast before, so the boys 'popped' her cherry, and what a fun time it was! Rianna begins talking about how she got the name "The Combat Barbie" and how it was meant as ridicule to make fun of her. Little did those people know, she would harness that name and take it to a whole new level. When she entered the Marines at 18 years old, Rianna was a short, blonde girl. Basically all of the things that are stereotyped for possibly not being able to make it in the military, let alone the Marine Corps. Some people gave her the nickname and began actually posting on the web and social media, making fun of her for being 'the combat barbie'. When all that transpired, Rianna took all of her social media down and basically hid for awhile. During this time, she realized she should take the name and 'own it'. And that she did. She used the name and began posting pictures of herself on social media websites in bikinis and the like. That's where it all began. It was nearly an instant hit. She was getting new followers left and right and 'blowing up' in the social media world. She moved over to Instagram where the success was even greater. Being a photo taker, and that's what that platform is meant for, this was the perfect place for her. She became, essentially, an overnight sensation. Now with well over 340k followers on Instagram alone, Rianna has decided to take that energy and following to a new level. She's started her own clothing line, Combat Barbie and is working with a team in California for the designs. What a story! Kevin asked Rianna what it was like to achieve this overnight 'fame'. Rianna replied humbly, saying she's a normal person like everyone else, she just happens to have a rather large following. She said its funny when she goes to stores and someone recognizes her and she doesn't think twice about it (not thinking she's the 'Combat Barbie'). She quickly remembers when someone approaches her anywhere. She also doesn't like to be viewed as a social media celebrity. She says shes a normal girl with a husband and family that still works the farms and more. Sully talks social media and explains how it can be so negative, yet it's nice to see a page like Rianna's shedding a positive light into the society. The boys also go over her tattoo's and plenty more! You're not going to want to miss this episode! Come find out ALL the things you've never known about Rianna Carpenter, AKA, 'The Combat Barbie'.

"PepperNutz" - Business Spotlight

Tommy Falbo, CEO and Founder or "PepperNutz" Hot Sauces, stops into the Hellbound with Halos Studio to heat things up and talk all about his sauces! Back in 2007, Tom started his business as a distributor of other hot sauces, because he loved them. Then, shortly after, he realized he should be making his own. So that, he did. (His wife actually had the idea that he start it). Tom discusses how he's be fortunate enough to be in the local Rochester, NY media to help promote his product, as well as working with the NY culinary school for food pairing ideas and chefs for testing of new flavors. He's received a lot of support from the area in Western NY and he is very appreciative of that. Kevin says that it seems as though people in our area, largely support local companies. Kevin is a bit nervous about taste testing all of the PepperNutz sauces, even though he enjoys spicy foods. He was prepared with milk, however. His biggest concern is the 'Carolina Reaper' sauce, in which that particular pepper boasts a heat level of over 2 million scoville units. Sully doesn't do hot sauces but begins to try the different kinds after he learns of one called 'Rum Runner'. Come listen and learn about this great, small business. Go try some of his sauces and tell him we sent ya! www.peppernutz.com And you can follow him on any social media as well.

"Dear Santa, Define... Naughty" with Kenna James

It's Christmas Eve! And what a better way to spend it then listening in on Kevin, Sully and Kenna play a few games. Not your average reindeer games however. This is moreso a fan submitted questions and answer by Kenna and then they played some 'Have You Ever' Naughty or Nice. Kevin starts things off wondering if Christmas Eve is actually a holiday. Other than New Year's Eve, it's the only 'eve' before a major holiday labeled on a calendar. They jointly decided it's a holiday, only because it's on the calendar. Kevin asks them what their plans are for Christmas. Kenna says she's headed to the mid west to be with family, Sully is working so he's doing Christmas on Christmas Eve, and Kevin is working Christmas Eve, so they'll be doing a later celebration on Christmas Day. Kenna begins answering questions that were submitted by fans. Kevin put out a post on social media to enable Kenna's fans to ask her questions. And that they did. Kevin whittled the questions down to a bunch, but he said a lot were duplicates. We won't list all of the questions here, however, I'm sure you can get an idea of where those questions headed. I mean, they were asking a porn star after all. After Kenna answered her lot of questions, Kevin brought up playing Naughty or Nice. Learn a bit more than you thought you knew about Kevin, Sully & Kenna through this little game. Who wins? Who's the naughtiest? You'll have to listen to find out!
