Leveraging Medicare with Anthony Maritato
05/26/22 • 49 min
How does Medicare open doors and bring people in? And how would they lead to the development of tools that give patients access to the physical therapist's history and expertise?
Anthony Maritato is a licensed physical therapist and specializes in helping patients to recover from total knee replacement surgery. He and his wife started a private practice in 2002 in Sarasota, FL, called Total Therapy Solutions because they believe in a total body approach to health. Their treatment plans include education and empowerment as well as strength, range of motion, and overall health.
This week’s Healthcare Hacks and Connection, Nathan Navas and Anthony Maritato will talk about the opportunities to open new doors in practice and allow patients to see what they can do and improve care quality.
They will touch on such topics as:
- When having a partner in the business, establish ground rules: What is the business's function for you?
- Build a vehicle that provides you with your priorities: (1) Priority number one is time freedom, and (2) priority number two is financial independence.
- More money in the bank does not give more freedom.
- Always look for a void—voids are opportunities.
- Raising your prices will lead you to people who don’t want you but will track the people who like you.
Hack: There is a huge opportunity within the world of Medicare if you understand the guidelines and regulations

A Holistic Approach to Commercializing Yourself In the Business Industry with Andy Chan
Are you an aspiring businessman or woman? Do you know how important networking is in helping you commercialize yourself? How can we use the holistic point of view of western and eastern medicine to bridge the gap? Are you ready to think about what you can bring to the table to find success?
Dr. Andy Chan, MD is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist in Houston, TX and has over 24 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from Boston U, School of Medicine medical school in 1998. He is affiliated with medical facilities Houston Methodist Hospital and Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.
This week’s Healthcare Hacks and Connection, Nathan Navas and Andy Chan will talk about the key to understanding the difference between western and eastern culture in medicine and how people can be educated better to stand out by commercializing themselves in the business industry.
They will touch on such topics as:
- You must choose a small part in which to improve and believe in the concept of aggregation of marginal gains, in which you only work on small things here and there.
- A mentor is important and critical to your career and personal development
- A mentor does not have to be a specific person; it can be anyone who can give you advice. Even if that advice is bad, it is showing you what to avoid.
- If everybody starts to become a listener, we will all advance in ways that people have not previously imagined, in ways that are out of this world
- If you are a better listener, you will build a connection with your client. Once the trust is there, they will listen to you.
- The most powerful marketing tool is word of mouth
Hack: If you want to be great one day, you have to start commercializing what you do in the sense that you have to think of yourself as a brand and a business
