Amanda blinked into the darkness that surrounded her. She could hear the pipes, gurgling in her walls, footsteps on hardwood floor, coming from the apartment above her and her own breath, matching the fast rhythm of her heart.

A thin sheet of sweat seemed to cover her whole body, she felt hot in one moment, then freezing in the next. Something was wrong. She knew it.
