Want to secure a radio gig for your brand, your celebrity talent, or a well-known name?
Fitzy and Wippa are household names throughout Sydney, and the rest of Australia for their daily lols in the morning. In this episode, I had the delightful opportunity to talk shop with Lucy Polkinghorne, the show’s senior producer, and all-round funny lady.
Lucy is smart as all get out, hilarious ...and kindly informed me just prior to going on air that she was getting comfy for the interview aka undoing the top button of her jeans.
As a bit of a newbie to being on the other side of the interview...this lady normally does the interviewing, Lucy shares generously about her career spanning TV and radio.
Lucy’s experience span news, sport, current affairs, entertainment, and weather having worked for Nova Entertainment, Sky News, Channel Seven, Fox Sports News, AFL Sydney Swans, BBL Sydney Sixers, NRL Canterbury Bulldogs and NRL.com.
In this episode Lucy shares:
- What a day in life looks like as a senior producer for one of Australia’s most well-loved radio shows
- What’s involved in being a weather gal and how she undertook a crash course in meteorology
- What she’s looking for in a great pitch and breaks down the segments of the Fitzy and Wippa show

Writing for Millenials with deputy editor of Wild, Charlie Hale | Ep 8
Charlie Hale is an English-born journalist based in Sydney, where she writes about a plethora of things women care about - from pasta to politics and everything in between. She is currently the Deputy Editor of WellBeing, WILD, and EatWell magazines. So you can imagine her plate is rather full.
For this discussion, we jumped headfirst into WILD - the reasonably new print mag published by Universal Media Co, and little sister to Wellbeing magazine.
The stunning little mag is born out of Byron Bay where editor Kate Duncan resides and you can feel it in the pages. it's brought to life for the curious – the belief shakers, paradigm shifters and paradise creators.
The mag covers those topics that are swirling around friendship circles, at book clubs, at the pub, and around slow-cooked feasts of sustainably farmed produce.
Charlie shares a peek behind the scenes of pulling this beautiful magazine together, the planning, strategy, and coordination along with some of her tips for working around your flow.
