How to Live Forever: A Guide for Peaceful Grieving with Kimberly Best
Is it possible to prepare for peaceful grieving?
In this episode, I'm joined by Kimberly Best, a Civil and Family Mediator, Author, Speaker, Conflict Management and Mediation Specialist, and Coach. Kimberly thrives on helping others solve their conflicts in non-litigious ways, working tirelessly to find optimal solutions for all parties. In her book, "How To Live Forever," she takes the reader through a humanized guide on how to be prepared and ready to make difficult decisions and deal with end-of-life issues with ease, peace, and without headaches and unpleasant surprises.
Throughout our conversation, we discuss the importance of acknowledging we are all going to die, and the sooner we sort things out and prepare for that moment, the better. Kimberly talks about her mediation, conflict-solving, and nursing background, how making peace with the idea of dying frees our minds, and the importance of having conversations about death with our loved ones before it is too late.
Additionally, we discuss her book "How to Live Forever, A Guide to Writing the Final Chapter of Your Life Story," what inspired her to write it, why we should ask more questions in our medical consultations, and much more.
Tune in and listen to episode 160 of Grief and Happiness to learn with Kimberly about the best way to plan for peace of mind when grieving, the moment you most need it.

Surrendering to Grief: A Path to Organically Healing with Sue Patton Thoele
Are you ready to allow grief in your life?
In this episode together, I'm joined by a true light in the world and Empress of Aging, Sue Patton Thoele. Sue is an "Emeritus-Most-Everything," Public Speaker, Seminar Leader, former Hospice Chaplain and Psychotherapist, and the Author of 13 beautiful books. After an unsatisfactory reading of a self-help book, Sue casually commented: "If I ever write a book, I'm going to make it practical." A few months later, Sue's first book, "The Courage To Be Yourself," was published, and it was a landmark for a beautiful, prolific, and fulfilling new stage of her life.
Throughout this episode, Sue shares her thoughts on grieving as an act of surrendering and how allowing it into our lives naturally and organically heals it. We also talk about the common mistake of grieving failures and things we regret not doing, the importance of paying attention to our needs, and taking good care of ourselves while grieving.
We also discuss the modern world's lack of empathy, how messy grief can be, grief as an incubator for compassion, and much more.
Tune in and listen to episode 162 of Grief and Happiness to learn from Sue's particular views on life, grief, happiness, and purpose.
