Mr. NYC Subway with Andreas Verrios
Gossipnista: A New York City Podcast
06/23/21 • 78 min
The tracks had been laid for Andreas path to the New York City Subway in one way or another, and he was destined to become none other than, 'Mr. NYC Subway'!
It didn’t come easy however, with a little ingenuity, passion, transparency, consistency, networking, building the right team, and I’ll add perseverance, were all key ingredients that led him to his creative and his artistic side. Need I note, this does not include his 8-6 day job as a lawyer.
Episode 32 - Meet Andreas Verrios, the artist and creator behind one of New York’s most captivating New York Subway accounts. His artistic and precision photography captures the essence of all his subjects and their individuality. Without his photography lense, I personally may have never been exposed to the beauty that lies within the New York City Subway, and the magnitude of such talented people, here within the city.
Nearly saying goodbye to New York City once upon a time, Andreas is proof that anything is possible in New York and that the city will make you, break you, pick you up and constantly teach you lessons.
You’ll have to tune into the full episode to hear all about Andreas incredible New York journey, tips on the city, how to build your own following today and so much more!

As home prices continue to rise, some will have the opportunity to buy a home in the city; others may inherit a family home in one of the boroughs; many will move to New York and rent an apartment as the majority will come and go. However, few will have conquered the city in such a short amount of time as my guest Demi Palmer has done and did it all before the age of 25. Making New York City her backyard and playground, Demi is only 20 minutes away from the heart of the city, West Village.
With light, love, humility, transparency and serendipitous moments that can only happen in New York City, Demi, holds nothing back in our interview and shares her New York story as well as pathway to home buying in Jersey City, for anyone looking to make that move now or in the future. “It’s an extension of New York”!
Throughout our interview, she provides great insights into home ownership and the costs that go along with it, as well as tips and hacks for buying a property, finding a realtor and a good contractor, and setting yourself up for a successful transaction, plus so much more.
Worldly, educated, and driven, she has also created an arts and culture community for musicians and people of color Tapped Brooklyn which shares their stories and artistry. This is an episode that will take you just outside of the city, while the intention of still always being a part of it.

In the meantime, one can actually get tickets to some of New York’s most popular locations right now if you sign-up/walk-in to get the vaccine shot. Sign me up!
Episode 29: I had the honor of speaking with one of New York’s frontline essential healthcare workers, Karla Mabini. Karla is currently assisting in distributing the covid-19 vaccines throughout New York City. When she’s not helping administer shots, you can find her saving lives in the operating room as an Intraoperative nurse in the city.
In our interview today, get ready to hear her recount some of the challenges faced in 2020. Also, hear some of the beautiful moments New York offered it’s healthcare workers during these trying times. Karla is an advocate on getting the vaccine shot and shares why it’s important we move towards “herd immunity", while also helping to answer questions we may or may not already know about the vaccines, during our conversation.
Ultimately, her light, love and gratitude for life and everyone who’s supported essential healthcare workers shine through. This is a must listen from someone who has experienced it all!
Karla wanted to express her gratitude to the following businesses below. Please check them out and see how you can support-
Specialized - Specialized gave Karla and other healthcare workers a commuter bike which they could use to go to work. It was a immense resource and alternative mode of transportation especially at the height of the pandemic to fell safer.
Transportation Alternative - This company helped match Karla with Specialized for a commuter bike. They accept bikes (used or new) to be given to those who needs it.
First Descents: Experience the Healing Power of Adventure - During 2020 this company awarded Karla and several healthcare workers with an all expenses paid rock climbing trip upstate. They generally serve Cancer and MS patients to offer these life changing outdoor adventures - but of course they made an exception for healthcare workers.

Making NYC Your Temporary Home with Mark & Kristen Morgan
Gossipnista: A New York City Podcast
05/03/21 • 53 min
Who doesn’t have the travel bug right now? I definitely do! How amazing would it be if one could try before they buy into something - especially a place like New York City!
That’s exactly what my guest’s this week did, Mark & Kristen Morgan. Scientists by trade and world travelers by design, they left everything behind and set off on an 18 month honeymoon around the world in 2018 and ended it right before Covid-19 hit. However, that did not stop them towards the end of 2020, settling into New York and experiencing the city nearly all to themselves for a couple months in 2021.
With a world of knowledge learned from traveling to 4 different continents and 35+ countries...and counting 'Where Are Those Morgans' travel blog - tune in to hear their perspective on the city, what they liked, disliked, and if they’ll make New York their permanent home. Also, hear some of their amazing travel adventures, which seem right out of a movie. What countries they enjoyed best; how much you can expect to spend in some countries and what 18 month of travel will set you back, plus suggestions on where to go next and of course, how to explore and live in NYC just as they did.
All of this and so much more on the episode. Let me know what you think and what you’d like to hear more of. Thank you, Mark & Kristen!
Please Note: Mark and Kristen's stay in New York City was from Jan-April 2021

SPOTTED: NYC Apartment Renting Tips (Series) Episode 1
Gossipnista: A New York City Podcast
04/12/21 • 18 min
Making big moves in 2021? The rental market landscape has definitely changed due to the pandemic, and I believe it’s still very much a renters market in New York City.
Whether you’re a current New Yorker who looked to optimize during Covid’s availability in NYC and upgraded your apartment to get those views you always dreamed about; or move to a new more desirable neighborhood; maybe have more amenities; or need more space, etc., it’s all been possible and it’s only the beginning.
If your new to the city and/or dreaming of a New York Lifestyle, it’s more than possible!- I’ve gathered some tips throughout my apartment search, which you may find helpful and I’m here to answer any questions you might have.
I’ve had my finger on the pulse since early on as well as the height of apartment rental vacancies in the city during September/October 2020 and have experienced it firsthand.
From what’s going on with brokers and fees right now, to the stringent application process, the difference neighborhoods in the city, things only New Yorkers would know about apartments and searches, etc. There is so much more to share that I’ve decided to start an ongoing ‘Spotted’ series on Apartment hunting.
This would not have been possible without the number one source New Yorkers look to find an apartment, StreetEasy.
