Why do you think its our natural tendency to do everything we can first....and then when that fails we turn to prayer as a last resort. And then when we do turn to prayer....we don’t even know how to pray for the circumstance we’re in...just like the Apostle Paul states Romans 8:26. Is it possible that we have turned prayer into a religious activity...when Almighty God simply wants us to have a conversation with Him throughout the day. This means, both speaking and listening.
