This week we are talking about anxiety and events. Based on the post written for us by Princess of Kink. Anxiety is something that affects a lot of people but everyone tends to feel they are alone in it, when really everyone in the room and be feeling it some extent.

A teenager in Cornwall is being forced to study on his own after he had his head shaved to support his friend who has cancer. Normally this is something I can understand, a school has to have a certain level of uniform with their students, but it seems a little extreme to punish this boy when he was doing such a good thing for his friend and charity.

A judge in Utah called the Mormon bishop he just sentenced for raping a woman "A good man". It is unbelievable that this judge showed such poor taste as he praised the rapist in the dock in front of the victim.

The case is still going on but the judge in Fort Collins made the point hat if men can do it then women should be able to as well. We are really hoping that this gets upheld because it is unfair that womens breasts are seen as only being sexual objects when men don't have that problem.

What is Erotic Fan Fiction, put simply it is witting your own story based on the characters or setting of someone has created. This is based on our article by Victoria Blisse.

Is it legal to create your own fan fiction? Turns out that is a tricky question. You need to understand copyright and how it is applied in your country.

Since 1995 Copyright is granted on all creative works up to 70 years after the authors death. At which point it becomes public domain. Before 1956 most content isn't copyrighted at all, but make sure you read the law before you do anything with them.

Correction: Almost entirely in the public domain

Because of a quirk in the copyright law (published before 1956) some of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories have been granted 95 year protections after the author died. That means 10 of the 56 Sherlock Holmes stories (published between 1923 - 1927) are actually still in copyright.

In 2013 this was challenged in a court in the US (and subsequently the US court of appeal) rejected the claim that having 10 stories still in copyright protects the entire character as wrong. It points out that only character traits adding in those final 10 stories is still in copyright, everything else about Sherlock Holmes and his world is public domain.

50 Shades of Gray was originally Twighlight fanfiction. Pixie had trouble seeing how the two of them could be the same characters. But if you change the names, remove the vampire element, you basically have the same story. Older man seduces and controls the innocent young girl and has his wicked way with her (really could be any book).

Correction: I totally forgot they had all the artwork they had both been given as well as the stories that had been created.

This week we are talking about the UK porn laws, what they are and how they affect you in suprising ways. This is based on our article this week written by Screw Taboo.

One of the biggest problems with our laws is that no one can be totally sure what is legal and what isn't until it is judged in a court. That opinion can even change from case to case based on the jury who judges it.

There is a very broard range of things a pair of adults can do together including bondage, breath play, water sports. All these things are perfectly legal until you commit them to film.

Or more worringly until you write about them in some cases. That isn't just writting about them in the form of a story, but writting them in a text message you send from your phone or on Facebook is deemed as publishing them, and that can make them illegal to posses.

It is worth understanding "The obscene publication act comes into effect when something becomes published". Publised in this case means commited to a medium of any kind.

• Shooting a film on a video camera is publishing
• Shooting images on your phone is publishing
• Writting a sexy story in a chat window to a friend is publishing

The of the quesitons is if people are afraid of the public becoming corrupted then why don't half the films out there get taken down by the same law?

One of the most interest aspects of this is how something becomes published (recorded into any form). Imagine you take a pcture with your phone, if you later delete that image but the phone keeps a copy. You can still be prosecuted even if you don't know the phone is keeping it.

The most scrary part of these laws for us is that you can be guilty of a very serious crime without ever knowing it has happened.

An image in your twitter feed could be breaking the law. You might not even see it come in, you went straight past it. The browser can keep a copy of that image and that can later be used to prosecute you.

Of course we understand why these laws have come about. We just hope that a judge or CPS would be understanding in their approach to prosecuting someone. But they don't have to be understanding.

This week we are talking about what it is like to be a pro-domme. Based on the article written for us by Dominar Jen. We talk about what it was like for where, the ups and the downs.

Before we start. Is it said like "Dom" or "Domm-e"? You hear both ways of saying it out in the world which is the right way? I think you say it like you say the French work "Femme", you would say it "Fem". That way the words "Dom" and "Domme" are actually said the same way because they mean the same thing. They are just written differently to denote the sex of the person.

A UK court tells a woman she must stay with her husband who she wants to divore for no other reason than this was "of the kind to be expected in marriage". This is incredibly unusual in the UK and not something we thought we see here in the UK.

A great article on Psychology Today written by@MichaelAaronPhD (based on research done by @Dr_Markie_Twist (Website)) about debunking popular myths around BDSM. Based on a actual study done on 200 people, this ethically approved study used a number of standard based approaches to see what people who enjoyed BDSM were really like.

Looking into things like "Do people who enjoy BDSM come from abusive childhoods?". Of course they don't, and the study finds there is no corolation at all between abuse and BDSM.

It is well worth your time reading the study and looking at the tests they actually did.

Written for us by Dominar Jen who was a Pro-Domme for a year so is well places to talk about her experiences. She is actually one of this years top 100 sex bloggers which is how we found out about her and her great blog.

The term "Pro-Domme" is a loaded one. It seems to conjour up this image of a beautuful woman, rising crop in hand, and high black boots.

The reality is it is a really hard job where you are providing very personal services to people. But it isn't who that person really is.

Jen makes the great point that she isn't the one in control when she is providing this service. She is Topping people at best, it isn't Doming someone when they are paying for a service.

While she loves Domming people this was a job, and while that means it wasn't always fun it was fun 75% of the time. Which is pretty good for any job.

Yeah right. It is far from easy to do this as a job. Sometimes the clients likes will line up with her own but often it just wouldn't but she would still have to do it.

Make sure you check her out, even if you are not that interested in erotica. She covers a lot of non-fiction and a fair amount about herself, and is usually very funny.

Kinky Discussions is much more focused on BDSM and the personal experiences of the hosts DC Bear and Tiger Stripes. They have a lot of fun talking about the topic very openly and honestly. Nothing is out of bounds but it is fun and approachable.

A bit of a strange concept, but one that is worth understanding. Read the article (more then once) and dig into how you feel about it.

Basically it is all about approaching your relationships from the perspective that you can decide how you want them to be. There doesn't have to be a primary relationship is you don't want one to be, just as your other relationships (sexual or not) can also be very important to you.

You love isn't deminished by loving more than one person.
