Explicit content warning
02/26/21 • 42 min
Throughout the decade of the 2010s, the NBA and the game of basketball were pushing forth a new style of play: small ball and the 3-pointer. The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, and the Toronto Raptors, took advantage of their backcourt play during this period, which solidified a championship for their respective franchise. Just when you thought the center position or the "big man" disappeared, two 7'ft goliaths emerged, and have been changing the way basketball is being played. Join Boni and Felix as the Toronto natives give an in-depth analysis of two centers taking the league by storm: Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic.
- Positive Affirmation: When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change - Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender / The Legend of Korra.
- Which trip do you prefer: Kevin Durant with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson OR James Harden and Kyrie Irving?
- Felix: gives insight on the biography of Joel Embiid and how he's becoming one of the more popular names in the NBA today.
- Boni: gives insight on the underdog story that is Nikola Jokic and how he, at the center position, is continuing the dialogue of what the "big man" represents in the NBA.
- Boni & Felix end the episode by playing a board game-inspired classic, 5 Second Rule: Sports Edition

#009: NBA Players without a Championship | A Shea Serrano Series
The hardest decade to win an NBA championship was in the 1990s. It's definitive that Michael Jordan's presence disrupted the chances of many NBA stars throughout that era. But how would their legacy change, if they won a championship? Join these two Toronto natives as Boni and Felix go back in time and discuss NBA superstars that never won a championship, in this third installment of the Shea Serrano series based on the #1 New York Times bestseller, "Basketball (And Other Things) A Collection of Questions Asked, Answered, Illustrated" 2017. They will also discuss current NBA stars that will be ringless, and end the episode with a popular Tik Tok trend.
- Boni and Felix discuss active NBA players that will not win a championship by the time their career is over from Carmelo Anthony to Russell Westbrook.
- Felix's choice of NBA players that have not won a ring: Reggie Miller, Karl Malone, and Steve Nash.
- Boni's choice of NBA players that have not won a ring: Dominique Wilkins, Patrick Ewing, and Charles Barkley.
- TikTok trend: Boni and Felix will be giving each other random NBA teams, and construct their starting lineup and sixth man from position to position. Which team was the better build?

#011: NBA All-Star MVP Draft | A Draft Series
It's that time in the NBA season where star-caliber basketball players become household names. LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kleenex. Whether you're a fan of the Skills Challenge, the Slam Dunk Contest or the 3-Point Shooting Contest, know that the NBA All-Star 2021 weekend will either be so so good or just blatantly terrible. Join Boni and Felix as the two Toronto natives participate in their first-ever draft episode consisting only of NBA All-Star MVP's throughout NBA history.
- Positive Affirmation: From thirdeyethoughts: What if it does work out exactly how you imagined it or even greater? Entertain that thought.
- Random NBA Fact: Manute Bol killed a lion with a spear
- banter about lions and how animals are smart
- an update and review of our reward predictions from Episode 1
- Boni claims that the NBA draft class of 2021 has similar qualities in stardom to the NBA draft class of 2003 (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony).
- Felix asks Boni two questions: Should the NBA provide and investigate more into deciding who makes the all-star team? And should fans have leverage in voting on who becomes an all-star starter?
- Boni and Felix draft a team of 10 players each, consisting of past All-Star MVP candidates. Who drafted the better team? Let us know and get in touch with us. Follow us on Instagram @fullcourtpressthepodcast
- Boni and Felix end this episode by playing an audio version of "Headbandz" where Boni has 30 seconds to guess the name of a player that Felix has chosen. Will Boni ask the right questions and beat the clock on time?
