Mom: Raising a child with a disability and K-12 school accommodation plan
03/01/20 • -1 min
Look thru the lens of a parent who has a child with FSHD muscular dystrophy. My mother Christiane Wyckoff shares her tear jerking experience learning how to raise me. From the initial spidey senses that something was wrong, to the years of feeling isolated in search of a diagnosis and then turning a corner to advocate on my behalf. As a 5th grade teacher, she also dives into the process of K-12 accommodation plans for children who need services in order to thrive in school. She is forever my #1 role model, and I attribute my go getter attitude by learning from her. Cue the tissues; you might need some in the middle. FYI she raised an incredible unicorn if I say so myself. Transcript: https://rb.gy/tcadzi
