Formula XX - Hot Wheels & Hot Flashes

Our VERY inaugural (really??) episode is a rambling opus dedicated to our predictions for the upcoming F1 season. We've got lots to learn about podcasting, but look forward to talking about all types of racing with each other and with special guests in the weeks and months ahead.

After the inaugural Saudi GP, which included an irrelevant penalty for one driver brake checking another, and the 2022 GP including actual rockets falling from the sky mere kilometers from the track...what excitement did the 2023 Saudi GP bring? As it turns out, not much beyond the stewards once again proving they're inept. Alonso made it on to the podium, was booted off the podium, and then made it back on to the podium. Mercedes did better than expected, but all is not well as Russell refuses team orders. Ferrari underperforms, and once again fails at basic strategy. The mid-field is sorta interesting. One unnecessary safety car later, and we're talking about a yet another boring AF win for RBR, complete with Driver #1's father being a dickbag to Driver #2.

Monza's trackside drama never disappoints, and neither does our latest Formula XX podcast episode, where excitement and opinion crash like racers at the first chicane. After a few technical difficulties, and a few life delays, we're back with part two of our Singapore and Suzuka podding double-header.
One Red Bull driver is back on form in Japan, and one Mercedes driver is acting like a petulant child. Valtteri Bottas takes another run at "World's Longest Pit Stop" and Mercedes mess up their strategy so bad that Toto Wolff has to call from his hospital bed half a planet away to fix it.
There was plenty to discuss, including our speculation about Liam Lawson's future in light of his excellent fill-in performances, and who will or won't be in the second seat at RBR next season.

We're back to break down pre-season testing. Will it be status quo for 2024? We look for signs of forward momentum and ponder which teams may be struggling in Bahrain and beyond.
