In this episode, Mike sits down with two of the most amazing people who are after REAL CHANGE! Steve Nisbet & Jennifer Byrne are both Veterans of the United States Air Force and have teamed up to ensure that the heroic men and women in uniform outlive and overcome their own battles. That's why they started Shields & Stripes; a 501(c)(3) dedicated to redefining mental health rehabilitation to heal those who sacrificed so much to protect this nation. The story behind Shields & Stripes is incredibly moving and underscores the sometimes invisible pain that our Veterans, Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders endure.
Shields & Stripes is still in the start-up stage and is hosting their first pilot study the week this podcast airs (20-25 September 2021). As many of you know, PTSD and Mental Health issues are rampant in these communities and these service members need our help. It costs $5000 to sponsor a service member through this 4-Month program, and is at NO COST to the service member receiving treatment.
