This week we chat with Robin Aguilar, a PhD candidate in the Beliveau and Noble Labs at UW Genome Sciences. Their research is focused around repetitive DNA biology, microscopy, and genomic technology development. They play a big role in justice-centered learning spaces in STEM for minoritized and marginalized students. We discuss topics around their article, "Breaking the binary by coming out as a trans scientist," as well as TigerFISH a software tool they developed to help perform imaging of satellite DNA in single cells.
