Fleece My Sheep?

For some inexplicable reason people tend to have expectations of better living circumstances as they enter into a new year. Tragically and particularly in the African brand of Christianity, which is completely foreign to biblical Christianity, so-called pastors and leaders take advantage of this irrational thinking process to abuse the finances of their followers. They encourage people to engage in several days of fasting and prayers, a lot of financial covenants and seed-sowing, to usher in a more financially prosperous new year, which they lie that the Lord has promised.
Is God concerned about our financial status in any one year as He is about our spiritual well-being on each and every day?
As can be expected the people end up living in anxiety and dissatisfaction through the year, not receiving the said promises from God while continuing to relentlessly sow financial seeds as prescribed by their cunning and fraudulent leaders all year long; the leaders get richer through the year and the followers either lose what they have or remain discontent with what they do have. At the end of the year into the next year, the cycle of foolishness is restarted! They are all driven by the same sense of greed, leader and followers alike.
There is a more excellent way to live before God that gives perpetual joy and peace, enables us to live content and fulfilling lives in Godliness. Nothing can be more satisfying. This is what this series of sermons aims to enlighten and encourage the children of God to do.
