5-Minute Focus: It's Okay To Make Yourself A Priority
11/29/23 • 6 min
I recently asked listeners what they’d like me to talk about and this was one of the many responses I received:
The listener wrote:
"My issue is learning that it is okay to make myself the priority at times.
Example:
I can’t spend $5.00 on myself but won’t hesitate to spend $100.00 on my family or friends.
Or I don’t make time for myself to do the things I want to do, but will drop everything to help or do what another person wants to do.
And so on ......
I am afraid I will be like this until the day I die."
This is a great discussion topic as I know many of us can relate.
So why do we find it so hard to make ourselves a priority?? And what can be done about it?
I hope you'll listen in to today's 5-Minute Focus podcast and learn some quick tips about making yourself a priority and knowing it's absolutely okay--and necessary--to do so!
Cheering for you!

5-Minute Focus: Sharpen Your Focus
If you're trying to reach a new level in business or your personal life, you have to get clear on what you really want.
I was telling my golf coach that I wanted to work on my swing speed. When he asked why, I said because I wanted to be able to get the ball farther down the fairway. He again asked, "Why?" I said because it'll help me get in a better position to get on the green in less strokes. He then went on to ask me about different aspects of my game to include using my fairway woods, chipping, putting, etc. He helped me realize that those were areas that I could improve on, too. He pointed out that being fast but unfocused wasn't the best way to get where I wanted to be. Then he asked,
"So what's your real goal?"
Listen in to quick podcast about getting real and getting focused. And why being fast and unfocused isn't going to get you to your goal.
