Film Broads, See?

AI was such a huge sticking point in last year’s contract negotiations, and how AI will change the future of our industry, or what that means for you as a creative, is still a pretty gray area.

That’s why I’m excited to share this conversation with Tom Morkes with you. He’s the founder and CEO of Insurgent Publishing, and co-host of the upcoming AI WRITERS SUMMIT.

One thing I do know is that AI brings up a lot of fear. Fear that creatives will be replaced. That the entertainment industry will collapse. And when fear is present, it can lead you to avoid and resist the thing you don’t understand.

So instead of digging my heels and resisting AI, I want to get curious and learn how it can actually enhance or supplement my creativity. That’s what this interview is all about!

Speaking of technological advancement, this episode gives a shoutout to Hedy Lamar and her incredible inventions (hint, you're probably using one of them right now)!

What is a mini outline and why should you care?

It’s time to start making some DECISIONS about your story, see? And the mini outline is the perfect tool to do it.

Longer than a logline, shorter than a synopsis, the mini outline will help you lay a strong foundation for the journey of your protagonist.

That way you won’t write yourself into a corner later.

What goes into a mini outline? Find out in this episode. Plus I’ll share some examples of good and delightfully BAD mini outlines from The Devil Wears Prada and Anatomy Of A Fall, and you’ll learn about the slapstick comedy queen who taught Charlie Chaplin everything he knew: Mabel Normand.
