In this podcast we’ll cover: Pioneering women in film from the Golden Age of Hollywood to today, How you can write, produce and star in your own projects, And what to do with your film once it’s done. I’m Emily Grace and I empower women, especially actresses, to take their success into their own hands by learning how to write and produce their own work. I’m a Sundance award-winning actress, a writer, producer and founder of the Pickford West Society. Film Broads, See? - So you wanna make a film, see?
play

02/05/24 • 28 min

Let's get some clarity today on WHY you want to make this film. This is essential to fuel you through the rough patches - because like it or not, obstacles are part of the process. And it helps you stay focused on what matters - the impact this story will have on your audience.

I also get pretty vulnerable about my own "why" and what inspired me to write my latest short film PIGEON.

I'll also introduce you to Mae West, the second inspiration for my company name: Pickford West Society. She was a bold, bawdy, sexually empowered woman who disrupted the status quo in the entertainment industry. She wrote, produced and starred in her own projects, was an advocate for gay rights, and stood confidently in her own worth.

Film Broads, See? - Will using AI help or hurt your screenplay?
play

03/18/24 • 47 min

AI was such a huge sticking point in last year’s contract negotiations, and how AI will change the future of our industry, or what that means for you as a creative, is still a pretty gray area.

That’s why I’m excited to share this conversation with Tom Morkes with you. He’s the founder and CEO of Insurgent Publishing, and co-host of the upcoming AI WRITERS SUMMIT.

One thing I do know is that AI brings up a lot of fear. Fear that creatives will be replaced. That the entertainment industry will collapse. And when fear is present, it can lead you to avoid and resist the thing you don’t understand.

So instead of digging my heels and resisting AI, I want to get curious and learn how it can actually enhance or supplement my creativity. That’s what this interview is all about!

Speaking of technological advancement, this episode gives a shoutout to Hedy Lamar and her incredible inventions (hint, you're probably using one of them right now)!

Want to take the AI conversation deeper? Grab your FREE ticket to the AI WRITERS SUMMIT.
