F*ck It Mothering

Amanda Haro

Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm a life coach for moms. If you are a mom and are tired of the wash-rinse-repeat burnout cycle of motherhood; if you feel lonely and isolated in your motherhood journey; if you feel like you have completely lost your identity since your babies were born; if you feel like every other mom has it together except for you, this podcast is for you. I am living proof that a woman can be present & loving to her kids, while also being a whole ass person outside of being “that kid’s mom”. The secret? Learning when to say FUCK IT.

Unpopular opinion: motherhood can be boring.

Not everyone adapts well to the demands and slow pace and ultimate isolation of baby life. But also, not enough women talk about the new mom struggles because they feel so guilty for feeling that way to begin with and are terrified of being judged.

In short: mom guilt keeps us from finding the other women who are sharing our struggles who could validate our experience.

This week host Amanda Haro is joined by Roula Abou Haidar, who shares her story of motherhood with the honesty we’ve all been waiting for.

They discuss:

✨ The challenges of being a new mom as an immigrant

✨ Hating being a stay at home mom

✨ How hard and painful breastfeeding can be and letting go of the mom guilt around using formula

✨ Divorce and peaceful co-parenting

✨ The decision to remarry & choosing to have another kid

✨ The importance of having boundaries as a mom

Have you scoured the internet in search of *the* parenting hack that will solve the problem of your kids tantrums / pissy attitude / picky eating?

Have you implemented all that advice just to wind up still stressed / anxious / overwhelmed?

If you’ve been a part of the F*ck It Mothering community for awhile, you’ll notice a major difference between host Amanda Haro and “parenting experts” is that she does not give out parenting advice.

And she doesn’t give parenting advice because it’s not going to work.

At least, in the sense of reducing your stress.
Because taking a new action does not affect our feelings . Our thoughts create our feelings.

The reason none of the parenting advice out there hasn’t worked for you is not because you suck and your kids are awful. It’s just because no one is teaching you how to tackle the real problem: changing your thoughts.
