Fashionably Tardy

Disabled people do have a space in the fashion industry. Since we make up one fifth of the world’s population, we really are a big deal!

Special Announcement!! The FT Fitted Challenge is underway, and winners will receive $50! The contest runs from July 24, 2020 to August 1, 2020! Judges for this challenge will be posted on our social media sites. The directions are simple:

  1. Wear a nice outfit and take a photo
  2. Post it on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter @FTOnTheScene and the hashtags, #FTFittedChallenge and #FashionablyTardy.
  3. Include “alt text” on your photos so that blind users know what your outfit, hair, or background looks like. See this article for details! https://caneadventures.blog/2019/12/02/alt-text-on-social-media/

The red-carpet features for this episode include Lauren “Lolo” Spencer, a disabled model, actress, and activist, and Lucy Jones, founder of the Ffora brand specializing in fashionable designs for wheelchair users. Our Stiletto Award nominee is Alexandra Herold, founder of Patti and Ricky, an online adaptive fashion one-stop shop. Style Me Up Nat would not be possible without help from Coco Laquay, experienced stylist in the LA area.

Special shout out to Autery Weekes, our sound engineer. For information on his services, visit www.auteryweekes.com

Love & Confidence

Natalie & Lissa are back with another episode, and this time it is all about love and confidence. Each guest has a story of determination, self-discovery, and love that feuls the many successes they have had thus far. We owe a very special thank you to each of them: Errol Isip of Model Hunt, Mandy Lieveld an NYC-based Runway Coach, and Ezra Jones founder of THEFSTATE.

Crystal Allen from Eyes Like Mine Inc. made a guest appearance to discuss her Miss Blind Diva Empowerment Pageant, and Cocoa Rivers gave great skincare tips on Style Me Up Nat. Many thanks to both of these ladies!
