The coaching carousel in the NFL has impacted the college game considerably.
On Monday's episode of False Start, John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) flew solo like a cup while Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) was in New Orleans to help cover Super Bowl 59.
The solo show from Buhler was defined by coaching changes impacting college football across the board.
From Chip Kelly leaving Ohio State for the Las Vegas Raiders, to Ryan Grubb coming back to the college game to reunite with Kalen DeBoer at Alabama, Buhler had you covered and then some.
Also, he gave a glimpse at his way-too-early hot seat watch for the 2025 season.
False Start is here to be the ultimate distraction for those who do not want to think about the two teams playing in this year's Super Bowl.

Indiana may have thrown a wrench in everything, but Texas is messing everything up!
With the return of John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com), Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) was not entirely ready with what was about to come down the pipeline.
While Buhler did not have the stones to keep Texas out of the College Football Playoff picture like his hero Andy Staples of On3 did, the guys did wonder about if Texas really does belong in the 12-team playoff. They are 9-1, but who have they beaten?
It all comes down to the Texas A&M game in two weeks, but the guys still had plenty to talk about on a Monday.
From AP Top 25 reactions, to new 12-team playoff brackets, to putting more dudes on the hot seat, False Start was chaotic on a Monday as you could have ever hoped for.

It all comes down to this...
With it being conference championship weekend and all, we will know what teams will be playing in the first 12-team College Football Playoff, as well as which teams will be playing in ... other bowl games...
While teams like Georgia, Oregon, Penn State and Texas will be getting in no matter what happens in their conference championship games, other teams like Arizona State, Boise State, Clemson and Iowa State need to win to get into the playoff.
And then, there is SMU...
The Mustangs will get in as the ACC Champion if they beat Clemson, but maybe there is still a chance they get in as a two-loss, ACC runner-up at-large team?
The other huge game of note is Georgia vs. Texas in a rematch from earlier in the season in the Dawgs' backyard of Atlanta.
John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) brought their A games on the latest edition of False Start.
You are not going to want to miss out on this one!

The College Football Playoff starts now!
While John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) will have more to unpack in the lead-up to this weekend's games, they decided to look at the quarterbacks first.
What quarterback rooms got the boys excited, and which ones are not worth writing home about?
Also, they took a look at a few high-end, incoming head coaches and tried to figure out who will have the most success in year one.
This obviously includes Bill Belichick taking over Cody's beloved North Carolina Tar Heels.
The weather outside may be weather, but at least you have got some False Start!

And then there were four...
The College Football Playoff quarterfinals have come and gone with Penn State, Texas, Ohio State and Notre Dame all advancing, leaving Boise State, Arizona State, Oregon and Georgia to pick up the pieces.
John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) reacted to the wild weekend that was, as well as got ready for the upcoming semifinals that are happening in a week and change.
New year, same us and this is False Start.

What a day, what a day, what a day!
Week 12 of the 2024 college football season was wilder than we expected. While Georgia held serve at home to beat rival Tennessee to keep its playoff dreams alive, BYU suffered its first loss of the season to a much-improved Kansas team.
With LSU losing to Florida, Scott Stricklin looks smart for keeping Billy Napier around, while we have to wonder how hot is Brian Kelly's seat getting.
Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) flew solo like a cup for Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt for False Start, while John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) was out celebrating the Arizona State podcast's big day.
False Start is getting better and better every week, just like football season, baby!

What up, Beck?!
Yes, former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has removed himself from the 2025 NFL Draft so that he can transfer to Miami to be with his girlfriend.
John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) obviously had some thoughts about this, but he only had The Starters to share them with, as Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) fought off something fierce.
Buhler then touched on the latest in the Life of Brian Ferentz, Texas' bright future (we think...), and Marcus Freeman absolutely being in his bag at Notre Dame.
Win or lose, rain or shine, False Start will be with you until the end of time!

Would Steve Sarkisian really mess with Texas?
As John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) got ready for the upcoming College Football Playoff semifinals, rumors started to circulate that Sarkisian would draw interest from NFL teams.
We saw the NFL briefly court Marcus Freeman, but to no avail.
Sarkisian leaving for the NFL would not only re-open the head-coaching carousel, but would put Texas between a rock and a hard place in 2025.
Also, Georgia was able to land Zachariah and Zion Branch in the transfer portal.
Just when you thought the college football season was about to wind down, False Start has more steam than a locomotive coming down the track, brother!

Brent Venables may not be the right head coach to lead Oklahoma in the SEC.
After getting his pants pulled over his head by former OU assistant Shane Beamer's South Carolina Gamecocks, why on god's green earth is Venables the most well-compensated state employee in Oklahoma?
While John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) will be rooting against Lincoln Riley in every game he coaches for USC going forward, Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) feels bad for the UAB Blazers for the Trent Dilfer debacle.
As it is on every Monday of False Start, the boys had a bone or two to pick with the Associated Press, as well as revealing their projected 12-team College Football Playoff brackets.
Plus, the guys were idiots (still are) and took the time to admit defeat on a few things. False Start was a hoot and a half and will put some pep in your step on Monday or Tuesday or whenever you listen to this podcast.

There is only one game left to crown a champion.
With Notre Dame beating Penn State to win the Orange Bowl and Ohio State defeating Texas to win the Cotton Bowl, we have a national title date between the Fighting Irish and the Buckeyes in Atlanta on MLK Day!
John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) reacted to the two national semifinals in the only way they know how.
With Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt, the guys ran, ran, passed and punted their way through this spectacular recap episode of False Start.
It all comes down to this: Will it be the Irish or the Bucks? Find out next week!
