Indiana may have thrown a wrench in everything, but Texas is messing everything up!
With the return of John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com), Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) was not entirely ready with what was about to come down the pipeline.
While Buhler did not have the stones to keep Texas out of the College Football Playoff picture like his hero Andy Staples of On3 did, the guys did wonder about if Texas really does belong in the 12-team playoff. They are 9-1, but who have they beaten?
It all comes down to the Texas A&M game in two weeks, but the guys still had plenty to talk about on a Monday.
From AP Top 25 reactions, to new 12-team playoff brackets, to putting more dudes on the hot seat, False Start was chaotic on a Monday as you could have ever hoped for.

With the help of a nursery rhyme, you too can pass the time!
As Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) was doing more serious work things, John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) flew solo like a cup to bring you our first College Football Playoff Rankings Reaction Show, Goldilocks style!
Buhler first reacted to the top 25 rankings, followed up by the 12-team playoff bracket before picking apart the Selection Committee's logic.
He picked three teams that he felt the committee was too hot on, too cold on and three that were ranked just right.
False Start continues to be the great distraction you and your friends deserve!

It all comes down to this...
With it being conference championship weekend and all, we will know what teams will be playing in the first 12-team College Football Playoff, as well as which teams will be playing in ... other bowl games...
While teams like Georgia, Oregon, Penn State and Texas will be getting in no matter what happens in their conference championship games, other teams like Arizona State, Boise State, Clemson and Iowa State need to win to get into the playoff.
And then, there is SMU...
The Mustangs will get in as the ACC Champion if they beat Clemson, but maybe there is still a chance they get in as a two-loss, ACC runner-up at-large team?
The other huge game of note is Georgia vs. Texas in a rematch from earlier in the season in the Dawgs' backyard of Atlanta.
John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) brought their A games on the latest edition of False Start.
You are not going to want to miss out on this one!

We only have one more set of rankings after this.
The penultimate College Football Playoff rankings came out on Tuesday night to much fanfare.
While the bulk of the teams vying for playoff berths can almost taste them, others' could be ripped away at the last second.
For a team like South Carolina, is there any hope of getting in? Why is the Selection Committee so high on Miami? And why are they giving Alabama another chance?
While Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) is surely happy that SMU might make it in anyway after all, John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) flew solo like a cup to provide you all the insight you need with some Playoff Goldilocks.
False Start is never going to do wrong by you, so you have us to be thankful for.

What a day, what a day, what a day!
Week 12 of the 2024 college football season was wilder than we expected. While Georgia held serve at home to beat rival Tennessee to keep its playoff dreams alive, BYU suffered its first loss of the season to a much-improved Kansas team.
With LSU losing to Florida, Scott Stricklin looks smart for keeping Billy Napier around, while we have to wonder how hot is Brian Kelly's seat getting.
Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) flew solo like a cup for Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt for False Start, while John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) was out celebrating the Arizona State podcast's big day.
False Start is getting better and better every week, just like football season, baby!

Brent Venables may not be the right head coach to lead Oklahoma in the SEC.
After getting his pants pulled over his head by former OU assistant Shane Beamer's South Carolina Gamecocks, why on god's green earth is Venables the most well-compensated state employee in Oklahoma?
While John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) will be rooting against Lincoln Riley in every game he coaches for USC going forward, Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) feels bad for the UAB Blazers for the Trent Dilfer debacle.
As it is on every Monday of False Start, the boys had a bone or two to pick with the Associated Press, as well as revealing their projected 12-team College Football Playoff brackets.
Plus, the guys were idiots (still are) and took the time to admit defeat on a few things. False Start was a hoot and a half and will put some pep in your step on Monday or Tuesday or whenever you listen to this podcast.

We can't believe what we just saw!
False Start was back with some College Football Playoff Goldilocks on Tuesday night ahead of Week 12.
While Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) flew solo like a cup, surely John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) was crying into his Dooley-Munson-Walker shrine over Georgia not being in the playoff field.
Cody definitely had thoughts beyond just UGA in the latest CFP rankings, including a team that probably has no business being ranked who could potentially bid steal so hard.
False Start is there for you, no matter what!

We planned to say other things in the postgame press conference...
While James Franklin is only one loss away from leading a 10-2 driving school at Penn State, we have to wonder if Nittany Lion Nation deserves better than their current head coach.
John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) examined what all has gone wrong in Happy Valley under Franklin's watch, as well as revealing their latest 12-team College Football Playoff brackets.
We learn things, or we don't... Either way, it is always a good time on False Start!

Would Steve Sarkisian really mess with Texas?
As John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) got ready for the upcoming College Football Playoff semifinals, rumors started to circulate that Sarkisian would draw interest from NFL teams.
We saw the NFL briefly court Marcus Freeman, but to no avail.
Sarkisian leaving for the NFL would not only re-open the head-coaching carousel, but would put Texas between a rock and a hard place in 2025.
Also, Georgia was able to land Zachariah and Zion Branch in the transfer portal.
Just when you thought the college football season was about to wind down, False Start has more steam than a locomotive coming down the track, brother!

We are straight-up not having a good time, bruh.
As John Buhler (Staff Writer, FanSided.com) is in utter shambles after seeing Ole Miss wipe the floor with Georgia, Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) was there to keep this installment of Three Yards and a Cloud of Punt of False Start from going into the ditch.
The SEC was the league of consequence this week with Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas and even Missouri getting huge wins.
While the Big Ten was mostly chalk, who saw Miami falling victim to Georgia Tech? Your boys Cody and Buhler said that was going to happen!
For better or worse, False Start prevails as we get one week closer to the playoff.
