Let me paint a picture that you might know a little something about. You go to the grocery store for a few things...and before you know it, it’s $100. Then you go to fill up your car with gas, and yep, another $40 there. Then you come home, check your mailbox, and you’ve got a bill from your Dr. for another $100 there. And then you have all the stuff you regularly do with your money - pay your rent or mortgage, and you’ve got some money going towards investing and paying off your credit card bill from your vacation. It’s a lot. Our guest, Allison Baggerly, founder of Inspired Budget, host of the Inspired Budget podcast, and author of the new book Money Made Easy, says finding balance is all about knowing where you’re going and taking some easy action steps to get there. So we’re going to talk about this idea of balance - how do you find it, what does it look like, and how does balance help you achieve your goals? Allison is also going to share some of her favorite money tips to create a budget that isn’t soul-sucking, but life-giving.

My cute pup Winnie is just past the 7-month mark and is starting to find her voice, as we say. There are 582 million entrepreneurs in the world, and if you’re one of those, you know what I mean. But figuring out the money and legal side of running a biz is hard work! In this episode, Lauren Boyd, lawyer and owner of Guide My Business, is here to give you all the important info on making your business grow - everything from trademarks to approachable, and affordable, legal advice for entrepreneurs. Debit Card vs. Credit Card: Which Card Should You Use

Everyone's Talkin' Money | Personal Finance, Money, Money Therapy, Happiness, Goals, Wellbeing

Debit card vs. credit card, which card should you use when? It may feel like plastic is plastic, but when it comes to your money, there are some distinct differences between a debit card vs. a credit card. In this Shannah Shares episode, I’m talkin’ when you use which card, how to maximize your benefits, and some key distinct differences.

This episode was inspired by a question from Marcus who wrote: Shannah, thanks for the show. I’m learning a lot and enjoying actually hearing about money every week. Your guests are rad, so thanks for that. I got into this debate with my fiance the other night about credit cards vs. debit cards and at the end of the debate we both realized that we really didn’t know when we should use each card. I thought I would come straight to you and see if you can help us figure it out. I currently have 2 credit cards and one debit card but I never know which one to pull out for day to day purchases and then for big purchases. Thank you again!

How often do you think about money and for bonus points, what are those thoughts? The truth is, we all have financial anxiety. But if you are spinning in anxious money thoughts and unsure how to get out of that loop, this episode is for you. As Lindsay Bryan-Podvin, a biracial financial therapist and wellness expert and author of the book “The Financial Anxiety Solution” says, “Anxiety is a normal and healthy stress response that all humans have - if their nervous system is working appropriately and it might come along with some physical symptoms - sweaty palms, heart racing, etc..” The goal isn’t to never feel anxiety around money because that just isn’t possible. The goal is to have a normal and healthy anxiety response - and one that you can move through. So, how do you get there? In this episode, Lindsay shares the role your childhood, particularly 0-age 8, might play in those anxious thoughts, how money anxiety impacts your daily life, some great exercises to move through those anxious thoughts, and how understanding your money personality will help you play to your money strengths.
