The particle 에 is a multi-use particle so it will be discussed in series. It has three primary functions:
1) existence, where 에 follows a place to indicate whether an object is present or absent; 2) temporal, where 에 follows a time expression, and 3) destination; where 에 indicates a place to which one is going or coming.
