Attraction Backstories You Never Knew
09/28/20 • 38 min
Hello and welcome to the best Disney podcast that is recorded by a couple of Disney-loving, kitten-crazy, floppy eared dog enthusiasts.
This week in Disney News, rumored earnings from Mulan make the movie a huge success. This makes us wonder if the rumor that Pixar's Soul will also be released on streaming has a strong likelihood to be true. Tokyo Disneyland also soft-opened Enchanted Tales of Beauty and the Beast, another trackless ride with lots to see. Joe and I watched the ride video and were a little underwhelmed, but maybe it's different if you actually ride it! Sit back this week and prepare to have your mind bent and your ride experiences forever altered. Let me explain. You know how authors tend to write more background on a character than is ever given in a story? This week, we delve into the not-so-well-known ride backgrounds after seeing the mind-blowing post that you're actually dead when riding The Haunted Mansion. Yep! You read that right! You die during the ride! Hear about this and other crazy ride backgrounds that you wouldn't guess in your wildest dreams. (Seriously, you won't believe the back stories for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad OR Pirates of the Caribbean!) We hope you have a magical week full of pumpkin spice (if that's your sort of thing) and apple-picking. You Can Only Keep One: Disney Renaissance Edition
This week in Disney news we discuss the new show all about the Animal Kingdom coming to Disney+. Plus, Chris Hemsworth says he isn’t done with Thor and we couldn’t be happier!
We've already shared how tough it is to rank the Disney Renaissance movies in Episodes 116 and 117. To stay on topic, this week we do another round of You Can Only Keep One with things from the Disney Renaissance. Our choices are:
Tarzan, Aladdin, or Mulan
Hercules, Beauty and the Beast, or The Little Mermaid
Genie, Timon and Pumbaa, or Mushu
"Be Our Guest," "Friend Like Me," or "I Just Can't Wait to Be King"
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight," "A Whole New World," or "I Won't Say I'm in Love"
and finally, all of the movies scored by Alan Menken vs. each other (that's 6/10 movies!)
We surprised even ourselves with our answers! What did you say? Did you have a family dinner discussion over it? We certainly did!
Thanks for listening as always and have a magical day!

Disney Decade: The 1990s
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, your favorite place to hear a guy named Joe and a lady named Angela talk about Disney until they’re as blue in the face as Stitch (which, to be clear, is a desired look).
Ugh...Disney News this week is a bummer. Disney laid off 28,000 Cast Members due to the pandemic. If you’d like to help out the impacted Cast Members, consider donating to the Cast Member Pantry or local food banks in Orlando and Southern California.
Also, in more bleh news, D23 has been postponed until 2022. The upside though is they’ll announce some of their 100th Anniversary festivities.
It’s hard to introduce the topic this week after that, but this week we continue a fan favorite series, Disney Decade. This go round we’re delving into the 1990s. The ‘90s is maybe one of Disney’s best decades to date. The Disney Renaissance happened, there are massive park expansions and new parks built, great TV shows are made, sooooo many hotels come to fruition, and Disney acquires a major TV network.
Thank you so much as always for listening! We hope you have a magical week!
