His actions were instrumental in aiding the success of his unit, the 2nd Battalion of the 60th Infantry Regiment, as they fought in North Africa and then through Northern Europe on their advance towards Berlin. Though injured, he fought on and was an inspiring leader to his men. He was a US military hero who was awarded the US Medal of Honor, and I am honored to tell you his true story.
