Drunk in a Graveyard - Episode 191 | The Plural Of Moose Is Moose
play

04/10/25 • 97 min

Join Robin and Scott on their continued journey towards literacy as we figure out what the plural of moose is. Move over Charles Dana Gibson because we have a Mel Gibson renaissance this week for some reason as we check out AI Chatbot nightmare “Flight Risk” starring Mark Wahlberg and then end up in a fudge state and rewatch The Patriot. You know how Charlie Manson had his girls? Well, we are the Gibson Girls. Then we end up burned once again by Osgood Perkins as we check out The Monkey which is confirmed Graveyard Trash (TM). We also are pleased to announced that for National Canadian Film Day on April 16th we will be screening werewolf menarche movie Ginger Snaps for FREE at the Paramount Theatre with Kamloops Film Society.

Drunk in a Graveyard - Episode 187 | The Ten Year VVitch
play

02/23/25 • 74 min

Episode 187 – It’s another graveyard variety show as the crew gets heated over Y2K, wanting to shove Kyle Mooney into a locker, dreadlocks, inflatable furniture, butterfly clips, DIAG custom rewrites for the Y2K script, and being a hippie but not a drug rug way. Television discussion this week revolves around American Manhunt: OJ Simpson, dirty cops, jury duty, finishing Succession and thinking thoughts, there not being enough Skarsgård for Robin, starting the new Gabby Petito documentary and Scott getting super fired up about it. The variety show rounds up with a recap of our 10th year anniversary screening of Robert Eggers’s The VVitch, so there’s talk about buckle shoes, loving Jesus, hailing Satan, barnyard animals, Puritan muttonchops, injecting butterfly parts into yourself for some reason, and the return of Cheezy Cheddar sauce at Panago Pizza. Darkfest 2025 is coming up with Kamloops Film Festival 2025 with Kamloops Film Society from March 6-15, so be sure to join us for our screenings of Seeds, and indigenous horror thriller, Jeremy Lutter’s short film “We Came From The Ocean”, and a special screening of 1922’s Nosferatu scored by Radiohead.

Episode 157 finds the crew back with Rigby out of the sick house, and she ain’t got the ‘rona. This episode the crew are back at Fantasia International Film Festival 2020 and check out Brea Grant’s 12 HOUR SHIFT starring Graveyard favourite Angela Bettis, best known for her role as May in the titular indie horror comedy film, as junkie nurse Mandy who feeds her heroin habit by illegally selling organs. We also have a peek at The Mortuary Collection, Ryan Spindell’s horror anthology series and there’s lots of talk about Angus Scrimm, dicks doing things they weren’t meant to do, mercy killing your wife a la James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2 and more. The Mortuary Collection was just picked up by Shudder as part of their fall line-up, so horror fans better keep their eyes peeled for this awesome Creepshow-esque spooky send up. This is our second official podcast episode of coverage for Fantasia Festival 2020 and we are so psyched for the awesome films we have seen so far and so very psyched to check out more.

Drunk in a Graveyard - Who Sees Is Also Seen (Podoween 2020 Day 2)
play

10/03/20 • 6 min

Podoween starts again! So, what is Podoween you might be wondering? It's a challenge that we started in October of 2018 where we here at DrunkInAGraveyard.com read a nice little spooky story or release a podcast episode everyday for the month of October. Storytelling and scary stories were so integral to us as growing up, and since everything kinda sucks we wanted to share some spookiness with you for the spookiest month of the year.

We are joined this year by some wonderful horror fiction authors, some creepypasta and spooky spaghetti makers, and today for Day 2 - we have a wonderful short story called "Who Sees Is Also Seen" by S. R. Hughes.

08/29/20 • 81 min

Our newest episode has us covering more Fantasia Film Festival offerings, this time in the form of a video game adaptation, a zombie flick that cuts close to home and a suspenseful French-Canadian twist on the idea of vampires. First up is Detention, directed by John Hsu, which is an adaptation of the game of the same name that follows a group of students who defy book ban orders in Tiawan during the White Terror. After that is Bleed With Me, directed by Amelia Moses, a tale of friends who go on vacation to cabin where things quickly turn strange becuase (you guessed it) things aren't quite on the up and up. The final movie this week is Yummy, a Belgian zombie flicks directed by Lars Damoiseaux that's heavy on the gore and the laughs and may or may not be based on Rigby's life.

Episode 156 finds the crew a ninja down, with Rigby doing whatever it is Rigby does (probably something vodka related), discussing the documentary Clapboard Jungle from director Justin McConnell that's playing at this years online Fantasia Film Festival starting August 20th. Clapboard Jungle uses Justin's own personal journey of getting his films made as a framework to dive into all the dark corners of the indie film world that you might not thing of when you think of people making movies. Throughout there are interviews with Gueillermo del Toro, Stuart Gordan, George Romero, our fav Steven Kostanski and a whole host of indie genre film names you'll recognize. The second half of this episode has us talking about McConnell's film Lifechanger (not part of Fantasia this year. It has it's premiere there in 2018), which was being made while Clapboard Jungle was being filmed.

Drunk in a Graveyard - Episode 186 | Chicken Flavoured Gushers
play

02/17/25 • 85 min

Episode 186 – This week the crew gets a little introspective and chats about “Eraserhead” by David Lynch as part of the David Lynch tribute weekend with Kamloops Film Society. There’s debate about if eating cornish game hens is worth it, perfectly normal human worm babies, knowing someone in a cosmic way, listening to the voices in the radiator, sex but make it gross, and David Lynch being a little freak. Then the crew talk’s Leigh Whannell’s 2025 Wolf Man, which, woof, but also there’s talk about having a Keebler elf for a wife, generators and rotten gas, trucks from the Last of Us, speedrunning lycanthropy and having hair where there wasn’t any before. Robin continues looking for Skarsgårds in all the wrong places and we chat about upcoming screenings at the Old Paramount Theatre and Darkfest 2025 at Kamloops Film Festival.
