#30 - Viking Age Archeological finds of 2022 {part one}
Drinking Horn Meadcast
02/09/23 • 46 min
5.0
The latter part of 2022 saw quite a few archeological finds from the Viking era. So Evan and Nick decided to "dig" in a little bit and discuss some of their favorites.
In fact, we talked about them for so long, that we had to split the episode into 2 parts!

Don't Fear the Reaper! {More Cowbell!!}
Oh boy, this was another fun one...
Evan and Nick return to the studio (Ha!) to talk all about this delicious mead, the peppers that are used to make it, and a certain story of how the entire production team had to call out of an evening event!
We introduce the genesis of this mead from it's baby stage as an experimental to the now TRIPLE BATCHED beast that it has become, We also share our newest favorite spice company here in Arizona and end with 5 rapid-fire questions for Evan to answer.
If you are enjoying our Meadcast episodes and know a few people who would as well, please let them know! Send them a random text about it and continue to bug them at work!
Mango Reaper Mead is made with our traditional mead recipe. We then add Kent-Atkins Mango juice to the fermented local honey and soak Carolina Reaper peppers and Ghost Peppers in the batch for just the right amount of time
** Be a part of the show!! **
We absolutely LOVE hearing from ya'll and our favorite way is to receive (drunk) voicemails for us to play during a future show! So, think of some question about the Mead, Bees, or really, ANYTHING you want, or maybe you have an idea for a show topic, or heck, just say hello?
It's extremely easy and just a 'click - 'talk - 'click away. Do it now! here --> VOICEMAIL
Mango Reaper and about 13+ more varieties are available at the Mead Hall and online (to 38 states) at Drinkinghornmeadery.com
Thank you to all who have shown the Meadcast love and we look forward to so much more soon!

#4 - Why Mead?
Drinking Horn Meadcast

Mead...why is it so cool?! Well, we give just a few of our reasons here in this episode and bring up a few future episode ideas as well. Did we mention any of your reasons? If not, let us know!
Evan explains some of the ways mead helps us be "green" and tells us the story of how this beverage was thought to be given to the masses by Odin himself!
**If you want to help us spread the good word of Mead and Mead Culture, please take about 3 minutes to rate us 5 stars and give a 2 sentence review on iTunes! It will help get the Meadcast out to more and more people.
