This week Michelle de Swarte brings lots of laughter to the table at Dish HQ.
Our guest is multi-talented! At 19 she swapped South London for the catwalks of NYC. Struggling to find her voice, Michelle left modelling for journalism and began making documentary films with icon and activist Gloria Steinem. Next, she gave stand-up comedy a shot which led her to Katherine Ryan, who she supported on tour and starred alongside on Netflix (The Duchess). In what is only her second acting job, Michelle plays ‘Natasha’ in comedy horror The Baby on Sky Atlantic now.
Angela treats Michelle’s taste buds to some succulent roast lamb with lemon chickpeas paired with a fabulous fleurie. Expect funnies about fashion, microwave meals and what starring opposite a baby has taught her.

Welcome to your dream get-together, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Michelin star chef Angela Hartnett. It’s time for our first guests to take their seats at Dish HQ.
This week, Angela and Nick are joined by Hannah Waddingham and Phil Dunster from the seven-time (yes, SEVEN) Emmy Award winning comedy-drama Ted Lasso. Hannah and Phil star as club owner Rebecca Welton and footballer Jamie Tartt in Apple’s global hit series, alongside Jason Sudeikis as the American college football coach hired to train a British Premier League team.
Over sea bass and drinks, the table chat ranges from Hannah’s obsession with Angela to Angela’s obsession with Hannah, the secret to ragout... and is Nick about to start taking football seriously?

Nick and Angela welcome presenter and proud Northerner, Vernon Kay.
Grimmy and Vernon first met when they presented T4 together back in their TV heydays, and later found themselves on back-to-back, on Saturday mornings on BBC Radio 1 - very challenging time slots for their active social lives.
Vernon Kay is best known for iconic TV shows including All Star Family Fortunes, Just the Two of Us and Splash. In 2020 he appeared on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, and recently has been covering on This Morning alongside Rochelle Humes. He has switched early morning radio for a late-night show, Dance Sounds of the 90s on BBC Radio 2 and regularly covers Zoe Ball’s breakfast show, where he interviewed Nick and Angela when they launched Dish back in June.
He is a big red meat fan, so Angela prepares a rich and creamy steak stroganoff, with a mushroom and onion sauce. Nick pours the wine, a delicate Gaia Organic Malbec. In this episode, we hear about Vernon’s glory days as a model, his pro tips for barbecuing with your mates, and how he managed to sneak a burner phone into I’m A Celeb!

Tom Grennan is a Bedford boy done good. With a flair for football, he pursued a professional career in his teens until the competition proved too stiff. Taking stock, Tom decided to give his other gift a shot. He began gigging around London and got spotted in a pub by a record label. His songs ‘A Little Bit of Love’ and ‘By Your Side’ (with Calvin Harris) were the second and third most played tracks of 2021 and his new tune ‘All These Nights’ is out now.
As Tom is pescatarian, Angela plated up some delicious hake with a roast red pepper sauce made with love by our novice chef Nick. Round the table, Tom tries an olive for the first time, shares his unconventional mash potato recipe and if you thought Grimshaw’s G-Wagon story was good (James May episode) ...wait till you hear what happened to Tom’s brand new wheels.

Ed Gamble is ON MENU at Dish HQ with Nick and Angela.
Comedian Ed is a regular on Mock the Week, a judge on Great British Menu and co-hosts the hugely successful Off Menu podcast with James Acaster. He’s currently touring the country with his stand up show ‘Electric’ (which has just been extended till November 22).
Ed Gamble’s middle name is barbeque and as it’s the season, Angela makes some BBQ cauliflower wings with a zingy coriander mayo, as the trio drill down into the minutiae of outdoor grilling. Next up are tasty pork steaks with peanut salsa & Chinese leaf slaw and talk turns to the Great British Menu, university eating habits and the surprise dish that did NOT go to plan...

There is majesty in the air as Nick and Ange welcome TV royalty to Dish HQ.
Dame Joanna Lumley was born in India, she attended boarding school in the UK before beginning a career in modelling in the 1960s. She transitioned into acting with early roles in Coronation Street and The New Avengers before becoming a household name as Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous—a role that earned her three Bafta awards.
Joanna loves to travel and is celebrated for her TV documentaries exploring Japan, India, the Nile, the Silk Road, and the Trans-Siberian Railway. In film, she lent her voice to Tim Burton animations, including Corpse Bride and James & the Giant Peach, and starred in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. You can watch her latest show, Amandaland—a spin-off of Motherland—on BBC iPlayer now.
Nick pours Joanna an elderflower pressé while Angela prepares parsnip gnocchi with sage & garlic mushrooms. The experts at Waitrose pair this with an Italian white wine, La Monetta Gavi Piedmont.
Prepare to be enchanted by Dame Joanna Lumley! During her chat with Nick and Angela, she discusses her 40 years of vegetarianism, looks back on the laughs on Absolutely Fabulous, and, in honor of Valentine’s Day, shares the secret to a long and happy marriage.

In the final episode of season two, it’s a family affair at DISH HQ with Spencer, Vogue and baby Otto.
Angela and Nick host two stars that risked life and limb on reality tv. Now married, these two entrepreneurs have three kids and several podcasts between them: Spencer & Vogue, My Therapist Ghosted Me and 6 Degrees with Jamie and Spencer. Vogue also has her own fake tan range, Bare by Vogue while Spencer has his own low ABV spirits company, CleanCo, available at Waitrose.
Angela cooks some lamb to perfection and makes some tasty cheesy hasselback potatoes, a recipe devised by Waitrose in conjunction with Zaina, 19, as part of the Create not Hate programme*. Spencer and Vogue talk about parenting, their pet peeves and, to satisfy their competitive nature, Nick treats the couple (and us) to a game of Mr. & Mrs.!
*Create Not Hate has partnered with Waitrose and John Lewis to continue with their mission to improve access to the creative industry for young people from a range of diverse backgrounds, who may not have considered a career in the industry or could use support to get started with their career.
Nick and Angela will be back in early April with brand new episodes of DISH.
Please keep your dilemmas coming to [email protected] and Angela will try and answer them on season three.

Nick and Angela welcome young British chef and Potato Queen, Poppy O’Toole.
Michelin-trained internet sensation Poppy Cooks went viral last year and rose to culinary fame when she began posting easy-to-follow recipes on TikTok, including the infamous 15 hour potato. Poppy creates easy-to-follow tutorials which have amassed 300 million views on her channels since April 2020, when she lost her job due to the pandemic. Her debut cookbook Poppy Cooks: The Food You Need, breaks down her fine-dining roots and reimagines them in kitchens at home. In 2022, Poppy was a judge on E4’s show Celebrity Cooking School alongside Giorgio Locatelli and she is currently the newest judge of BBC Three's Young MasterChef, alongside Kerth Gumbs.
Poppy and Angela have more than Chef whites in common. They trekked Peru together raising more than £250,000 for Action Against Hunger in 2022. Angela prepares a light and creamy, smoked aubergine, freekeh & pomegranate salad, with flatbreads. Nick pairs the dish with a citrusy English sparkling wine.
Poppy shares the many ways she loves to eat the humble potato, how she manifested her MasterChef dream and what she said when she met her hero, Jamie Oliver.
