15. Flights of Fancy

With the new shield completed, WLL and Vikros test out its new capabilities while Ikki and Magdar begin making plans for the hornet armor. They don’t get very far before everyone turns in for the night.

The following morning everyone is surprised to find the dragons have entered the tower without permission, causing quite the stir. Segrin is quickly banished while Hildreth runs off to go and find Magdar. The king has discovered the location of their benefactor so the party needs to leave quickly if they are to meet her. So they all gather their things and set off on dragon back, causing even more of a fuss. They fly for a few hours, avoiding detection by the king’s ships, before finally arriving at the island chain. There the party is dropped off while the dragons go to deal with the king’s ships. Soon they find themselves face to face with the woman who started this all.

14. The Lost Captain

WLL takes the time to introduce the rest of the Disciples to his old friend, Captain Valthan. Afterward, he escorts him back to the room, only then discovering the true horror of what he had been through. He witnessed the captain’s lack of eyes and said nothing, only making plans to meet him the next morning to join his tactics class. Then he goes to visit Iromae to see what she knows of what happened to the Captain. She recognizes the description as that of what happens to the highest priority political prisoners. The ones that are never seen again, that are exposed to the king’s ilithid.

Meanwhile, Ikki continues working on the project he has been working on since the start of the campaign. He enlists the help of WLL to carve in the final runes and the party gathers to watch the project reach completion. It is an awe-inspiring thing followed up by the beginning of plans to armor Magdar’s hornets.

16. Enter, the Queen

The Disciples find themselves face to face with their mysterious benefactor for the first time since long before this journey began. They are surprised to see that it is the queen who hired them, but it is undoubtedly her. She leads them to her impossible lair where there is a veritable army of kobolds working on inventions of all kinds.

There WLL is delighted to find a new elemental friend in a unique body that allows it to safely interact with others. His elemental friends are soon given bodies of their own and it is a joyous reunion.

Afterward, the queen leads the party off to receive some gifts specially crafted for them.
