Eloïse Parrack was born in Bethesda, USA and graduated with an MA in Sequential Design in 2006 from the University of Brighton. Eloïse has taught extensively within both further and higher art & design education within the UK. She is currently Course Leader of BA(Hons) Graphic Design at the University of Brighton. Prior to this role she taught for ten years on the BA(Hons) Graphic Design at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, developing and leading the Graphic Design Pathway.
From 2007, she co-managed Defalign, a collaborative studio and type foundry, with David Millhouse, davidmillhouse.com
In 2018 Eloïse graduated from the Expert class Type design at the Plantin Institute for Typography in Antwerp, Belgium.
Eloïse was a speaker at ATypI 2018 in Antwerp (with Eli Castellanos). The topic of that talk, Mixed Matrices, is a revival project of Hendrik van den Keere's Small Pica Roman (1578) at the Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp undertaken as a group project while studying at the Plantin Institute of Typography.
Fellow members of this project are Elí Castellanos cocijotype.com, Moritz Kleinsorge identity-letters.com, Álvaro Franca alvarofran.ca and Krassen Krestev www.plantininstitute.be/typedesign. The course is taught be Dr Frank E Blokland, founder of Dutch Type Library dutchtypelibrary.nl

Kenan Zekic is a design educator and multidisciplinary designer interested in social impact design. Until July 2021, he worked as a Full Professor at the International University of Sarajevo. Currently, he is starting a nonprofit organization INDI+E (Innovation, Design + Education), and works as an independent design consultant and creative director in a publishing house "Vrijeme". He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, received his master's degree in the UK, and was a Fulbright scholar in the US. His academic and professional focus has been on design and technology relationships and practices in underdeveloped regions. As a book lover and designer, he has dedicated creative efforts to improving book readers' experience. From 2017-2020, he was a local leader of the IxDA Interaction Design Association Chapter in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2019 he was a Cumulus + awardee. His works and projects have been presented and exhibited in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Turkey, Serbia, South Korea, Iran, and the USA. He was a designer of the first Bosnian and Herzegovina national currency coins after the war 1992-1995, which is still in use.

This project sets out to analyse past strategic innovations in art and design education with a view to informing current approaches in art and design curriculum and pedagogy, it intends to explore structural and cultural conditions for change and change management in this area. The project thus aims to future-proof art and design education, that is: increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning in art and design, by interconnecting exemplary traditions of reform and current innovative trans-disciplinary approaches to improve the effectiveness of art and design teaching and learning.
