DCC's new format for the Leadership Podcast in 2022 has us sharing episodes of the Serve Like the King series on the first and third Mondays of each month. Since January has five Mondays, we decided to share once again the podcast from 2021 that has had the most downloads and was listed as the most popular: "The Five Gifts of Advent: Joy" episode which aired Monday, December 13th, featuring DCC senior Caleb Garrett. If you haven't listened to his podcast yet, you will be encouraged by Caleb's insights into the differences between biblical joy and worldly happiness. If you have listened already, we invite you to share this episode with those who need the encouragement of James 1:2, "consider it pure joy . . . whenever you face trials of many kinds."

Serve Like the King: Episode 2
Has the start of your new year been anything but "happy?" Do you find yourself in the middle of a desperate situation? In this episode of the "Serve Like the King" series, Dr. Eddy Sanders looks at the life of Hannah (1 Samuel 1) and reminds us that God loves desperate situations. In the midst of despair and hopelessness, we need to be confident that God is never too far away. He is at work in individual desperate situations, and He is at work in national and worldwide desperate situations. You will be encouraged to remain faithful in prayer, even when life gets tough!

Serve Like the King: Episode 3
Biblical leadership in the Old Testament is based on the idea of servanthood--"not a servant of the people but a servant of God."* In this episode of the "Serve Like the King" series, Dr. Mark Hahlen looks at the differences between the son of Hannah and Elkanah (Samuel) and the sons of Eli (Hophni and Phinehas). We see that Samuel was with God while the sons of Eli did not know God. Dr. Hahlen will help us understand that the foremost qualification of "leadership" in the church is knowing the LORD, and the knowledge of the LORD is demonstrated in servanthood to him and to his people.
