As we move into the season of Advent and prepare for the celebration of Christmas, our focus turns to God as "Savior." In this episode of the Bible Words series, the Chair of DCC's Bible Department, Dr. Mark Hahlen, teaches that Yahweh is the One who delivers and saves. During this season of commercialization and gift-giving hype, we need to be reminded that only God can complete us, and He is the only Savior. On the night Christ was born, the angel announced, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11 ESV).
