11/03/22 • 43 min
We are dancing now! As we fight for gender equality and racial equality and pay equality and all the equalities, we have to be sure we're not unequality-ing anyone in the process. As we're seeking our own individual full expression, we need to be sure we're allowing full expression in others, and that may be expression that's different than ours and we misunderstand. This can cause conflict, and huge internal and interpersonal issues which is what today's guest Karl Lashkari (https://karllashkari.com/) is seeking to remedy in men. Men's excellence and leadership consultant, he is creating communities (https://menofmastery.us/) where men can explore full expression. This episode is jammed with fascinating insights so please listen with an open mind and listen to the whole episode, because there are some amazing nuggets at the end tie the whole conversation together.
In this episode we talk about
- Men's self expression and how not expressing fully can create significant mental health issues.
- Emotional intelligence skills needed to accept everyone's perspectives, reactions and needs.
- The brotherhood created in the Men of Mastery communities that Karl is creating, and the good it's doing.

Episode 204: Lashonda Fitch, 1st Black Female Executive Director of the Oak Ridge Cemetery
When we've never been in a certain position at a certain level before, we often feel some nerves. When we're an "only" in the room, we often feel like an outsider, which adds to the nerves. When we're new to town, those nerves ramp up even more. This week's guest Lashonda Fitch (https://www.linkedin.com/in/lashondafitch500/) felt all those things, but didn't let them stop her. She made friends, contributed, did an amazing job and was rewarded with the success she was looking for, and is only growing from here, so I'm thrilled to welcome her to the show to share her journey, her courage, and her success!
In this episode we talk about
- How she was open to different opportunities.
- The skills she built in the different positions she had throughout her career.
- The fateful wish she made on Lincoln's nose
- How she transformed herself to give her inner voice of doubt less to work with!
Lashonda spent over 10 years in banking, business development, and sales. Before assuming the role at Oak Ridge, she served as a Real Estate professional and a small business counselor for Justine Peterson. In her spare time, monthly she averages about 150 miles cycling on local trails and enjoys time on her deck with her husband Nick.
