Kimmy Gatewood is a director, actor, writer, and producer originally from Maryland. She can currently be seen on the hit Netflix show GLOW and directed an episode of Crazy Ex Girlfriend that the AV Club called "Perfect!" She is currently finishing her first feature, the Untitled Iliza Shlesinger Project. Other television directing includes upcoming episodes of Babysitter’s Club (Netflix), Sesame Street (HBO), Just Add Magic: Mystery City (Amazon), Helpsters (Apple), as well as HYPERLINKED (Disney/YouTube Red), and segments for The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale on Netflix. Her first short film, CONTROL (written by Alison Becker) made 34 festival appearances, and won 11 awards before becoming a Vimeo Staff Pick. Her follow-up short, Consent (written by Rebekka Johnson,) enjoyed a buzzy 11 festival run, capped with the Best Short win at The Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Kimmy also directed the Clio Award-winning Comedy Central digital series Junketeers and several digital projects with Rachel Bloom including LADYBOSS for Vanity Fair and I Don’t Care About Award Shows which opened up the 2017 Creative Arts Emmys. As a performer, Kimmy is a part of the acclaimed musical comedy trio The Apple Sisters, Gravid Water at UCB and she's known to play the trombone for the Paul F. Tompkins band. You've seen her on Conan, The B in Apartment 23, Atypical, and as Stacey Beswick (one of the Beatdown Biddies) on GLOW, - so she can put you in a headlock.
