JJ Barrows is an artist, author and standup comedian based in Southern California. Through the mixed media of art and words, she uses colors and comedy to address the awkward experience of being a human, getting older while remaining young and most recently the mystery that is marriage after 35 years of single hood. She most recently published her first book “it’s called a spade,” and finished filming her first Dry Bar Comedy Special, proving to be relatable from coast to coast. When not performing or painting, she enjoys traveling with her husband or life at home on the beaches of SoCal, surfing, biking, or crying at sunset. Life is too beautiful not to cry.

Do you consider yourself to be creative? Did you know that cartooning can help?!

Meet Sarah Jane Vickery, an artist and creativity coach who’s developed unique online art classes to help you do just that. Her goal is to help as many people as possible build the core skill of being able to think creatively - children and adults alike.

Sarah believes a creative mindset is not just about thinking outside of the box and inventing new things, it’s also key to expressing your thoughts, processing ideas, telling a story and building the confidence to adapt and change.

With the current social distancing environment, you can get creative through Sarah’s online interactive art classes. There are three classes to choose from: Cartoon Club for Kids, Discover Your Inner Cartoonist for adults and Cartoon Break for Businesses.

Sarah is also launching a drawing game called Cartoon Club on Kickstarter. Inspired by her online art classes, it’s designed it as a fun way to bring friends and family together through the ageless art of cartooning.

To learn more about Sarah's online Cartoon Club art classes for children, adults and businesses visit her website.

To share your drawings and see what Sarah does in class join Cartoon Club Creates on Facebook Group.

Or get alerted about when Cartoon Club the Game launches on Kickstarter in spring 2021 by signing up for her newsletter on her website.

I really enjoy this show because you don't have to call yourself an artist to be creative or to listen to this podcast. Mike reminds us we all have creative instincts and his openness with the solo episodes are refreshing and his guests are always enlightening.
