About Frantz:

Frantz M. Berthaud is the Administrative Director, Disease Center Operations of the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology and the Center for Cancer Therapeutic Innovation at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute -- the largest National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the nation. He’s accountable for the personnel, finance, and clinical operations for the hospital's lung cancer and phase 1 centers.

At DFCI, he serves as co-chair for the employee resource group shaping and informing the Institute’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) strategy and on the hospital’s ethics committee. His decade-plus experience in healthcare ranges from research, management, operations, to strategy. Frantz teaches healthcare strategy at the graduate school level at Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) where he also serves on an advisory board.

Frantz is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) serving as co-chair on the DE&I and as a member of the programs committees. In all of his roles, he applies a social justice lens informed by his commitment to health care equity. Frantz holds a Masters in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Philosophy from Boston College. He lives in Boston, MA with his wife and daughter.

About Alex:

Born in 1990 in Texcoco, Mexico State, Alex graduated from the University of British Columbia (in Vancouver, Canada). His involvement in the advocacy world began in Vancouver by volunteering with local LGBTQ+ nonprofits and with his collaborations to the beginning of It Gets Better Project in 2010, a global nonprofit that uplifts, empowers and connect LGBTQ+ around the world through storytelling and educational efforts.

Alex ’s video testimonials became essays for The New York Times bestseller book "It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living". Since May of 2014, he's been working as the Executive Director at It Gets Better México, one of the 20 members of the Project’s Global Affiliate Network.

He served as the Regional Coordinator for Latin America at It Gets Better Project in 2016 and 2017, and since December 2019 joined the US team as the Global Programming Coordinator. Alex is also one of the hosts for the LGBTIQ podcast La Jaula.

Alex is an alumnus of the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program, a podcaster, a late videogamer enthusiast, and loves reading biographies and maps.
