Chef Drew Ward joins the show to talk his path in life that led him to pursuing cooking and the culinary arts after his stint in the US Army. From a young age Drew loved cooking, and cut his teeth working in multiple kitchens learning the ropes until he had his first chance at running a professional kitchen. A US Army Veteran, now, drew is the Executive Chef for Artisanal Brewing Ventures and is writing his own story with a growing company that consists of multiple breweries, locations, and kitchens. We are cooking up a great episode, and an even greater display of the "never quit" and "always forward" attitudes. Drew is a huge veteran supporter, loves to work out, and doesn't mind a good rock band!He also left an awesome review for my book, "Hear These Truths", and knows the value of leadership as he runs an entire cooking operation for locations all across the eastern seaboard, including Southern Tier Brewing, Bold Rock Cider (a top 5 cider company in the US), Victory Brewing Company, and Six Point Beer. Let's go!More about Chef Drew Ward over on IG (Careful, his posts will make you hungry!) https://www.instagram.com/chefdrewward/Follow for more: jeffclarkofficial.com or... Podcast Q&A

Why did you start this show?

Meet new people, interview awesome authors, and learn more about the thriller genre and what goes on behind the keyboard of these incredible writers.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

An inside look behind the creative curtain on how these authors come up with their ideas, create stories, and then get them to the masses.

Which episode should someone start with?

They are all good, but Episode #1 is with my brother and fellow veteran Carl-Shawn Watkins and we talk vulnerability and leadership, and he was the perfect first guest!

Which have been your favourite episodes so far?

Hard to say! TR Matson, Andrews & Wilson, and my good friend Eric P. Bishop just to name a new, but I've really enjoyed them all! Lauren Ungeldi was great and she taught me a lot about writing, and her book "Flying the Tyrant" about Sadaam Hussein's private pilot is fantastic! Richard Maverick two-part episode is one of my most popular on YouTube.

Which episode are you most proud of?

Jerome Preisler. He's in the TOM CLANCY inner circle and writes in the NET FORCE series. It was cool to interview and get to know someone from the Clancy legacy.

What is your vision for your show?

Keep introducing the audience to not just new authors but military veteran authors, and expand with bigger and bigger guests each year! Have some big guests lined up for the rest of 2023 and 2024!

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

True Spies, The Protectors, The ThrillerZone, Black Spy Podcast, Drive On Podcast, and IG Lives with the Millenial Veteran Jenna Carlton (Also a podcast).

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

It's a military term for COA (Course of Action). We often present senior leadership with COAs on operations and such to help make informed decisions and to take a "course of action". So I felt it was perfect to discover the "Courses of Action" for each guest in their career/journey.

Tell us a bit about yourself

12 Year Air Force Veteran, with almost 20 total years in government service. Thriller book junkie, author of an honest leadership book, and aspiring thriller author. Recognized as the 2019 Air Force Civilian Supervisor of the Year, and nothing beats a good book, cigar, and glass of bourbon by the pool.
