We humans are very good at attaching our sense of self-worth to our wins. But life will throw us curve balls that can result in immense pain and a profound sense of loss. When we're in the middle of experiencing loss, we empathize with the pain. What can we do when we’re not handling the losses so well? How do we go from empathizing with the problem to empathizing with the opportunity? That’s why I asked James Heppner to be my guest on the next episode of the Communication TwentyFourSeven podcast. James is an international speaker, strategic results coach, and host of the Weekly Wins and Losses podcast. He helps people in their journey to embrace the wins and the losses equally by establishing the mental and physical courage needed to leverage the good and the bad.
This is a truly inspirational conversation. Listen as Jennifer Furlong and guest James Heppner discuss the messy ways we tend to navigate through our peaks and valleys, how having fear is not the real problem, and how we can move from less strain to more gain.

Building Emotional Agility in Children
Studies have shown that by the time a child reaches the age of 18, they have heard negative phrases like, “don’t do” or “don’t say” over 150,000 times. In contrast, they have heard less than 2,000 words with positive associations like encouragement, self-worth, and belief. This ratio raises havoc on a child’s subconscious mind as they seek to mold their identity. Author Wade Bergner has written a series of books that are intended to reinforce a child’s unconditional self-worth and awaken their mind to the splendid mysteries hidden in everyday life! He does this by sharing entertaining stories of hope and resiliency and encouraging connections between children and their families.
Listen as Jennifer Furlong and Wade Bergner discuss how being diagnosed with a reading disability at a young age was the catalyst for Wade becoming an author and why he wants you to come to know your unconditional worth so that you can spread that message to others.
