To make FastLED work with an array of WS2812 LEDs, there are five basic pieces that Padre discusses with Mark "Smitty" Smith
Quick Notes:
- The power regulator on an Arduino can provide ~500ma if you're giving it at least 7v of power
- If you're powering it from USB, it's closer to 400ma
- Each LED can pull UP TO 60ma (20ma per color)
- If you're going to power a long strand of LEDs, you want to use an external power source.
