As Jesus said in Luke 9:23, we are firstly to deny ourselves, and then to follow Him. Denying oneself is to not give in to unrighteous cravings. Pastor Kong details how to resist and repudiate self-gratification, self-vindication and self-exaltation like Jesus did in Matthew 4—we can't do it without the Holy Spirit. Next, we are to follow Jesus, which is to develop the nine fruit of the Spirit.
