Sextile Your Sex Life: Movie Horoscopes May 24 - 30, 2020

Cinemastrology

CherryPicks Presents Cinemastrology: Your weekly movie horoscope.

Week of May 24 - May 30, 2020.

Hosts Stevie Anderson and Kate Santos talk about their exes and the effects of Venus Retrograde on couples, plus the big transits that will have us trying new things and tuning into our emotional selves. A big energizing transit this week –Mars sextile Uranus– can force us out of our love life slump if we work towards taking the action of having the intimacy we desire. The hosts break down the transit by comparing it to Secretary (2002), a film that follows a lost woman who develops a loving BDSM relationship with her boss. Grey Gardens (1975) encapsulates Mercury Cancer energy, being centered around the home and focusing on the sometimes loving, sometimes tumultuous communication styles one could only have with a parental figure. The hosts also talk about how we’re all still dealing with the effects of Venus Retrograde and how that could catapult into some couples’ revisiting unresolved issues. By examining one of the CherryPicks Choices of the week, the romantic dark comedy The Lovebirds (2020).

EPISODE ONE WOO-HOO! Kate and Stevie discuss the current Venus Retrograde transit in Gemini and how the Czech New Wave film Daisies (1966) mirrors similar themes of beautiful chaos (BFF style), how squaring aspects to Neptune causes us to question who we really are in discussion with Being John Malkovich (1999), and the New Moon in Gemini has us demanding justice on a local level, through the lens of this week’s CherryPicks Choice, Seberg (2020).

Tracy Flick Meets Lunar Eclipse: Movie Horoscopes May 31 - June 6, 2020

CherryPicks Presents Cinemastrology: Your weekly movie horoscope.

Week of May 31 - June 6, 2020.

We’re sliding into an astro-packed June and thankfully, Cinemastrology hosts Stevie Anderson and Kate Santos can guide us through the first week. A domineering transit this week –Venus Square Mars– can have us all identifying the aspects of our lives that have the ability to get under our skin. The hosts discuss Reese Witherspoon’s know-it-all Tracy Flick character from the cult favorite Election (1999), a morality tale for the situations to avoid during this transit. The hosts also get into the nodal changes of last month by discussing the transition from Cancer-Capricorn to Gemini-Sagittarius through the film Annihilation (2018). This female fronted sci-fi thriller inspires us to question everything and to learn how to unlearn as the world shifts before our eyes. The lunar eclipse in Sagittarius is the real astro showstopper this week and Stevie and Kate discuss it via the CherryPicks Choice The High Note (2020). Like the lunar eclipse, the film forces Grace Davis, played by Tracee Ellis Ross, to grow and pave a new path that works for her. Eclipses are all about new chapters...whether we're ready or not!
