Can We Just...

She’s EVERYTHING! Arielle Richard drops some serious jaws with her quick wit and stunning humour. Her journey is admirable, real, raw, brave, & beautiful. Her venerability is honourable. Her comical aspect is beyond hilarious and quite literally had me in tears at times. She is a force to be reckoned with, through stories of moving across the country, starting fresh, unlearning old social habits, transitioning and becoming so incredibly bold with a beauty that she shines this amazing light with every room and conversation she enters into. We are so excited to have you listen in. Enjoy the ride!!

It's a mini episode and what I can promise is the acoustics are pretty darn amazing. You never know this might be a thing where we record the solo eps from "the closet".

He was my Husband- A Solo Ep
Can We Just...

In this life we have big choices and one of those choices begins with where do I want to stand with my story, In the lightness or in the heavy darkness? Walking through my experience with divorce I'll say -we chose, the "wasband" and myself, to navigate this time towards the lighter tones. Join me as I walk through my POV on divorce as I find a way to lighten the heavy load of this difficult journey and make peace with it, move forward, and relearn how to love the “new” layers within our relationship, post divorce. I talk about the in-between stages of letting go and understanding that those moments and memories only remind us of our capacity to love another human being.

Happy Labour Day everyone! We thought, what better time to dive into a discussion around work? But not your 9-5 or side hustle...we want to talk about invisible labour. This less recognized type of labour consists of unpaid work that is taken for granted, unrecognized and undervalued. Invisible labour permeates our relationships, careers, households, and even our sexual health.
Tune into this week’s episode where we discuss:
- What does invisible labour look like?
- How does invisible labour traditionally impact women more than anyone else?
- What resources exist to understand different points of view on the subject?
- ...and so much more!

Join me Nicole Sjostedt and special guest Marlayna Pincott as we dive deep into a conversation about our personal experiences of being women of mixed race.
Adoption playing a huge role in both of our paths detaching both of us from our culture and knowledge of our ancestral lineage. We talk about growing up feeling, as some would say, "other" and walk you through our different journeys from childhood experiences straight through to adulthood. We talk about finding out our heritages through DNA testing and from there starting to connect the dots piece by piece. We chat about the affects of feeling overlooked, misunderstood, denied and silenced by family, friends and society. We walk you through some pretty eye-opening experiences we endured as children being shuffled into the "other category". We also open up about overcoming fear of stepping into our identity and reconnecting with our cultures
* Trigger warning as we respect that this could bring up some challenging mixed emotions for people that are at a different stage of their acceptance and healing around some of these topics.

9. Masculine and Feminine Energies: Finding Your Balance and Shifting the Patriarchy, featuring Christina Tan
Can We Just...
08/02/22 • 40 min
In this week's episode, we discuss how to find balance by embracing both our masculine and feminine energy. We all have masculine and feminine energy within us and through our life experiences, we can develop one more than the other. Where masculine energy is more action-based, analytical and of the mind; feminine energy is more centered within the body, feeling-based and intuitive. It's normal to possess both and for most, it takes time to uncover what you need to lean into. With this awareness and framework, we look to see our imbalances and discuss ways to adjust the volume controls.
Things we’re exploring:
- Can we value intellect and intuition more equally?
- Nicole working on embracing masculine energy to become stronger and more confident
- Christina learning to tune more into the feminine
- Shifting the patriarchy to matriarchy
