Ever just want to rent an RV and take the kids on a 2 week educational trip to different National Parks out West? I do and that's exactly what my friends Chris and Morna Pollock did with their two kids and they are here to tell us about it. The Pollock's joined me at my house to talk all about it over wine and good laughs. We talked so long that I had to break the conversation down into 2 podcast episodes.
First they flew into Phoenix and learned from YouTube what their rental agency didn't offer. They visited the Grand Canyon only to have their daughter still looking for it today. Thanks to the Park Rangers Junior Ranger program their tourist trip got and extra educational lift.

Evan is a physician who was getting burned out in the workplace and decided to take a leave of absence. During this time off of work he then decided to extend his leave of absence and put on his hiking boots to tackle the Appalachian Trail. Evan discusses his passion for hiking, the great people he met along the way, some interesting ways to mail supplies on the trail and also who gave him the biggest support to live out a dream that even he didn't realize was deep in his soul.
Evan also blew my mind with his wealth of knowledge on the history of the trail and its close knit community.
