04/06/22 • 43 min
In this episode of Calming Sense, we discuss the great outdoors!!!
A discussion surrounding the benefits of being outdoors, surrounding yourself with nature and how that will have short and long lasting benefits to your overall Mental Health. In this episode we go one on one with Phil Jenkinson, Past President and Chair of the Government Relations Committee for the "Friends of the Harte Trail" charitable organization in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The trail itself is a 6.5km greenspace located in the southwest quadrant of the city.
Phil provides insight into his personal experience running an organization that has a direct impact on his community and their mental well-being. Phil recognizes the importance of getting yourself and your family outdoors no matter what length of time you have available to you. The benefits will always outweigh the possible "hassle" of getting the family to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
Following the interview with Phil, Host Aaron DeGroot dives into some of the recent studies that have been conducted on the benefits of being outdoors as it relates to our mental and physical well-being overall. Some of the statistics are mind-blowing.
Once again, find a nice cozy area and enjoy Episode #3 of Calming Sense. #WhatsYourCalm
